A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two security guards inside Cubbon Park, just across the road from Vidhana Soudha here. The incident took place on Wednesday night when the woman, an engineering graduate, had gone to the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association to get details about training. Around 5.30 pm, the woman approached the guards and told them she wanted to join a tennis course. They gave her an application and told her to come back on Thursday as the office was closed. She left and was loitering inside, Cubbon Park.
दिवाली के दिन बलात्कार की एक सनसनीखेज घटना से देश का सिलिकॉन वैली कहा जाने वाला बैंगलोर कांप गया। एक टेनिस क्लब की मेंबरशिप लेने गई एक महिला से क्लब के ही दो सिक्योरिटी गार्ड्स ने सामूहिक बलात्कार किया। किसी तरह खुद को आरोपियों के चंगुल से छुड़ाकर पुलिस स्टेशन पहुंची और मामला दर्ज कराया। जानकारी के मुताबिक 30 साल की महिला बुधवार की शाम 'कब्बान टेनिस क्लब' की मेंबरशिप लेने के लिए यहां पहुंची थी।

Jawahar Bal Bhawan : This is Amusement park at the Cubbon Park maintained by the Government. No child in should missed out on the Puttani Express ride (Toy train ride especially children) when visiting Cubbon park. This Amusement park host many game themes and one can find life sizes animals on the park premises.
Bal Bhavan was Inaugrated in the year 1967 and spreads over 11.35 acres of land.Now it is restritricted only to families, the reason more than 3000 thousand visitors visit this place.
Here at Sri Jayachamedra Hall conducts many shows for children. The Jawahar Bal Bhawan conducts many short and long term recreational and educational programs for children between the age 5 to 16 years.

Cubbon Park (Kannada: ಕಬ್ಬನ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್) is a landmark 'lung' area of the Bangalore city, located (12.97°N 77.6°E) within the heart of city in the Central Administrative Area. Originally created in 1870, when Major General Richard Sankey was the then British Chief Engineer of Mysore state, it covered an area of 100 acres (0.40 km2) and subsequent expansion has taken place and the area reported now is about 300 acres (1.2 km2). It has a rich recorded history of abundant flora and fauna plantations coupled with numerous impressive and aesthetically located buildings and statues of famous personages, in its precincts. This public park was first named as "Meade's Park" after Sir John Meade, the acting Commissioner of Mysore in 1870 and subsequently renamed as Cubbon Park after the longest serving commissioner of the time, Sir Mark Cubbon. To commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar's rule in Mysore State, in the year 1927, the park was again renamed as "Sri. Chamarajendra Park", in memory of the 19th Century ruler of the state Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar (1868 -- 94) during whose rule the park came into existence. The landscaping in the park creatively integrates natural rock outcrops with thickets of trees, massive bamboos, with grassy expanse and flowerbeds and the monuments within its limits, regulated by the Horticulture Department of the Government of Karnataka. The predominantly green area of the park has many motorable roads, and the well laid out walking paths running through the park are frequented by early morning walkers and the naturalists who study plants in the tranquil natural environment.
Tourists visiting this Park in the city of Bangalore have nicknamed the city itself as 'Garden City'.The importance of the Park to the city's environment is best stated by two Urban Architects who have won the national competition to design 'Freedom Park.'
For kids, the Jawahar Bal Bhawan is a must-see. This amusement park spread over 11.35 acres delights children with its life-sized animals and games. The Puttani Express ride (toy train ride) is a great draw. You'd be lucky to catch a show at the Sri Jayachamedra Hall (call 080-22864189 for details of shows). Bal Bhawan is open on all days of the week (except Thursdays) from 1000 to 1700 hours.
While at Cubbon Park, don't miss the Dancing Musical Fountain. There are two shows every day from 1900 to 1930 hours and 2000 to 2030 hours. But remember, it's closed on Mondays and the second Tuesday of the month.
Cubbon Park dons many hats: a green lung in the heart of the city that also hosts a library, museums, a tennis academy, an aquarium, a toy train and many statues and pavilions. It's probably one of the only parks to have a busy road cutting through it. In the wee hours of the morning or evenings, it's a jogger's paradise. Spring adds to the beauty of this park, with the lovely and colorful Tabebuia trees in full bloom.
At the other side of the entrance (near to MG Road) of the park is "Children's Amusement Park" having different types of playing equipments and a toy train ride, encircling certain area of the park. Elders are not allowed into this section until accompanied by their children. On the left hand side of the entrance is a government aquarium that hosts fishes of different kinds.

Bangalore
Bangalore /bæŋɡəˈlɔːr/, officially known as Bengaluru ([ˈbeŋɡəɭuːɾu]), is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It has a population of about 8.42 million and a metropolitan population of about 8.52 million, making it the third most populous city and fifth most populous urban agglomeration in India. Located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau, at a height of over 900 m (3,000 ft) above sea level, Bangalore is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year. Its elevation is the highest among the major large cities of India.
A succession of South Indian dynasties, the Western Gangas, the Cholas and the Hoysalas, ruled the present region of Bangalore until in 1537 CE, Kempé Gowdā – a feudal ruler under the Vijayanagara Empire – established a mud fort considered to be the foundation of modern Bangalore. In 1638, the Marāthās conquered and ruled Bangalore for almost 50 years, after which the Mughals captured and sold the city to the Mysore Kingdom of the Wadiyar dynasty. It was captured by the British after victory in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War (1799), who returned administrative control of the city to the Maharaja of Mysore. The old city developed in the dominions of the Maharaja of Mysore and was made capital of the Princely State of Mysore, which existed as a nominally sovereign entity of the British Raj. In 1809, the British shifted their cantonment to Bangalore, outside the old city, and a town grew up around it, which was governed as part of British India. Following India's independence in 1947, Bangalore became the capital of Mysore State, and remained capital when the new Indian state of Karnataka was formed in 1956. The two urban settlements of Bangalore – city and cantonment – which had developed as independent entities merged into a single urban centre in 1949. The existing Kannada name, Bengalūru, was declared the official name of the city in 2006.

A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two security guards inside Cubbon Park, just across the road from Vidhana Soudha here. The incident took place on Wednesday night when the woman, an engineering graduate, had gone to the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association to get details about training. Around 5.30 pm, the woman approached the guards and told them she wanted to join a tennis course. They gave her an application and told her to come back on Thursday as the office was closed. She left and was loitering inside, Cubbon Park. दिवाली के दिन बलात्कार की एक सनसनीखेज घटना से देश का सिलिकॉन वैली कहा जाने वाला बैंगलोर कांप गया। एक टेनिस क्लब की मेंबरशिप लेने गई एक महिला से क्लब के ही दो सिक्योरिटी गार्ड्स ने सामूहिक बलात्कार किया। किसी तरह खुद को आरोपियों के चंगुल से छुड़ाकर पुलिस स्टेशन पहुंची और मामला दर्ज कराया। जानकारी के मुताबिक 30 साल की महिला बुधवार की शाम 'कब्बान टेनिस क्लब' की मेंबरशिप लेने के लिए यहां पहुंची थी। -

Jawahar Bal Bhawan : This is Amusement park at the Cubbon Park maintained by the Government. No child in should missed out on the Puttani Express ride (Toy train ride especially children) when visiting Cubbon park. This Amusement park host many game themes and one can find life sizes animals on the park premises. Bal Bhavan was Inaugrated in the year 1967 and spreads over 11.35 acres of land.Now it is restritricted only to families, the reason more than 3000 thousand visitors visit this place. Here at Sri Jayachamedra Hall conducts many shows for children. The Jawahar Bal Bhawan conducts many short and long term recreational and educational programs for children between the age 5 to 16 years. Landmark: Near Cricket Stadium, Jewels De Paragon Phone: 080-22864189 Timings 10am to 5pm (Closed on Thursdays) Cubbon Park (Kannada: ಕಬ್ಬನ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್) is a landmark 'lung' area of the Bangalore city, located (12.97°N 77.6°E) within the heart of city in the Central Administrative Area. Originally created in 1870, when Major General Richard Sankey was the then British Chief Engineer of Mysore state, it covered an area of 100 acres (0.40 km2) and subsequent expansion has taken place and the area reported now is about 300 acres (1.2 km2). It has a rich recorded history of abundant flora and fauna plantations coupled with numerous impressive and aesthetically located buildings and statues of famous personages, in its precincts. This public park was first named as "Meade's Park" after Sir John Meade, the acting Commissioner of Mysore in 1870 and subsequently renamed as Cubbon Park after the longest serving commissioner of the time, Sir Mark Cubbon. To commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar's rule in Mysore State, in the year 1927, the park was again renamed as "Sri. Chamarajendra Park", in memory of the 19th Century ruler of the state Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar (1868 -- 94) during whose rule the park came into existence. The landscaping in the park creatively integrates natural rock outcrops with thickets of trees, massive bamboos, with grassy expanse and flowerbeds and the monuments within its limits, regulated by the Horticulture Department of the Government of Karnataka. The predominantly green area of the park has many motorable roads, and the well laid out walking paths running through the park are frequented by early morning walkers and the naturalists who study plants in the tranquil natural environment. Tourists visiting this Park in the city of Bangalore have nicknamed the city itself as 'Garden City'.The importance of the Park to the city's environment is best stated by two Urban Architects who have won the national competition to design 'Freedom Park.' For kids, the Jawahar Bal Bhawan is a must-see. This amusement park spread over 11.35 acres delights children with its life-sized animals and games. The Puttani Express ride (toy train ride) is a great draw. You'd be lucky to catch a show at the Sri Jayachamedra Hall (call 080-22864189 for details of shows). Bal Bhawan is open on all days of the week (except Thursdays) from 1000 to 1700 hours. While at Cubbon Park, don't miss the Dancing Musical Fountain. There are two shows every day from 1900 to 1930 hours and 2000 to 2030 hours. But remember, it's closed on Mondays and the second Tuesday of the month. Cubbon Park dons many hats: a green lung in the heart of the city that also hosts a library, museums, a tennis academy, an aquarium, a toy train and many statues and pavilions. It's probably one of the only parks to have a busy road cutting through it. In the wee hours of the morning or evenings, it's a jogger's paradise. Spring adds to the beauty of this park, with the lovely and colorful Tabebuia trees in full bloom. At the other side of the entrance (near to MG Road) of the park is "Children's Amusement Park" having different types of playing equipments and a toy train ride, encircling certain area of the park. Elders are not allowed into this section until accompanied by their children. On the left hand side of the entrance is a government aquarium that hosts fishes of different kinds. A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by two security guards inside Cubbon Park, just across the road from Vidhana Soudha here. The incident took place on Wednesday night when the woman, an engineering graduate, had gone to the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association to get details about training. Around 5.30 pm, the woman approached the guards and told them she wanted to join a tennis course. They gave her an application and told her to come back on Thursday as the office was closed. She left and was loitering inside, Cubbon Park.

Jawahar Bal Bhawan : This is Amusement park at the Cubbon Park maintained by the Government. No child in should missed out on the Puttani Express ride (Toy train ride especially children) when visiting Cubbon park. This Amusement park host many game themes and one can find life sizes animals on the park premises.
Bal Bhavan was Inaugrated in the year 1967 and spreads over 11.35 acres of land.Now it is restritricted only to families, the reason more than 3000 thousand visitors visit this place.
Here at Sri Jayachamedra Hall conducts many shows for children. The Jawahar Bal Bhawan conducts many short and long term recreational and educational programs for children between the age 5 to 16 years.

Cubbon Park (Kannada: ಕಬ್ಬನ್ ಪಾರ್ಕ್) is a landmark 'lung' area of the Bangalore city, located (12.97°N 77.6°E) within the heart of city in the Central Administrative Area. Originally created in 1870, when Major General Richard Sankey was the then British Chief Engineer of Mysore state, it covered an area of 100 acres (0.40 km2) and subsequent expansion has taken place and the area reported now is about 300 acres (1.2 km2). It has a rich recorded history of abundant flora and fauna plantations coupled with numerous impressive and aesthetically located buildings and statues of famous personages, in its precincts. This public park was first named as "Meade's Park" after Sir John Meade, the acting Commissioner of Mysore in 1870 and subsequently renamed as Cubbon Park after the longest serving commissioner of the time, Sir Mark Cubbon. To commemorate the Silver Jubilee of Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar's rule in Mysore State, in the year 1927, the park was again renamed as "Sri. Chamarajendra Park", in memory of the 19th Century ruler of the state Sri Chamarajendra Wodeyar (1868 -- 94) during whose rule the park came into existence. The landscaping in the park creatively integrates natural rock outcrops with thickets of trees, massive bamboos, with grassy expanse and flowerbeds and the monuments within its limits, regulated by the Horticulture Department of the Government of Karnataka. The predominantly green area of the park has many motorable roads, and the well laid out walking paths running through the park are frequented by early morning walkers and the naturalists who study plants in the tranquil natural environment.
Tourists visiting this Park in the city of Bangalore have nicknamed the city itself as 'Garden City'.The importance of the Park to the city's environment is best stated by two Urban Architects who have won the national competition to design 'Freedom Park.'
For kids, the Jawahar Bal Bhawan is a must-see. This amusement park spread over 11.35 acres delights children with its life-sized animals and games. The Puttani Express ride (toy train ride) is a great draw. You'd be lucky to catch a show at the Sri Jayachamedra Hall (call 080-22864189 for details of shows). Bal Bhawan is open on all days of the week (except Thursdays) from 1000 to 1700 hours.
While at Cubbon Park, don't miss the Dancing Musical Fountain. There are two shows every day from 1900 to 1930 hours and 2000 to 2030 hours. But remember, it's closed on Mondays and the second Tuesday of the month.
Cubbon Park dons many hats: a green lung in the heart of the city that also hosts a library, museums, a tennis academy, an aquarium, a toy train and many statues and pavilions. It's probably one of the only parks to have a busy road cutting through it. In the wee hours of the morning or evenings, it's a jogger's paradise. Spring adds to the beauty of this park, with the lovely and colorful Tabebuia trees in full bloom.
At the other side of the entrance (near to MG Road) of the park is "Children's Amusement Park" having different types of playing equipments and a toy train ride, encircling certain area of the park. Elders are not allowed into this section until accompanied by their children. On the left hand side of the entrance is a government aquarium that hosts fishes of different kinds.

Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, meaning The Red Garden in English, is a well known botanical garden in southern Bangalore, India.
The garden was originally commissioned by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore, and later finished by his son Tipu Sultan
It has a famous glass house which hosts an annual flower show. Lal Bagh houses India's largest collection of tropical plants, has an aquarium and a lake, and is one of the main tourist attractions in Bangalore.

This beautiful palace has Tudor style architecture, with fortified towers, arches, green lawns, and elegant woodcarvings in its interiors.
The Vidhana Soudha, located in Bengaluru, is the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka.
It is an imposing building, constructed in a style sometimes described as Mysore Neo-Dravidianand and incorporates elements of Indo-Saracenic and Dravidian styles
The beautiful Ulsoor Lake is spread over an area of 125 acres. It was constructed by Kempegowda II. Boating and swimming pool are the great attractions of the lake.
St. Mary's Basilica is a basilica located in the Archdiocese of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka.
It is the oldest church in Bangalore and is the only church in the state that has been elevated to the status of a minor basilica.
HAL Aerospace Museum is India's first aerospace museum located at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited premises, in Bangalore.
Established in 2001, the Museum is part of the HAL Heritage Centre and Aero Space Museum, and showcases the growth of the Indian aviation industry and HAL for six decades.
Tipu Sultan's Palace and Fort was originally built by Chikkadeva Raya in mud. Later, Hyder Ali started reconstruction in Indo-Islamic architecture. This was completed by his son, Tipu Sultan, in 1791.
The Hindu temple seen in the courtyard of the fort is the proof of Tipu Sultan's religious tolerance.
Located in the heart of city, set on a 300 acre area, Cubbon Park is a great place to laze around in the lush green paradise. It has a treasure of different species of exotic plants.
The park was named after the erstwhile Commissioner of Bangalore, Sir Mark Cubbon.
Many ornamental and flowering trees, both exotic and indigenous, can be found in the park.
Bannerghatta National Park, near Bangalore, Karnataka, southern India, was founded in 1971 and declared as a national park in 1974.
In 2002 a portion of the park, became a biological reserve, the Bannerghatta Biological Park.
Bellandur Lake is a lake which lies to the southeast of the city of Bangalore, and is the largest lake in the city. It is a part of Bellandur drainage system that drains the southern and the southeastern parts of the city.

Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, meaning The Red Garden in English, is a well known botanical garden in southern Bangalore, India.
The garden was originally commissioned by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysore, and later finished by his son Tipu Sultan
It has a famous glass house which hosts an annual flower show. Lal Bagh houses India's largest collection of tropical plants, has an aquarium and a lake, and is one of the main tourist attractions in Bangalore.
Built in 1887 by Chamaraja Wodeyar, Bangalore Palace is inspired by England's Windsor Castle.
This beautiful palace has Tudor style architecture, with fortified towers, arches, green lawns, and elegant woodcarvings in its interiors.
The Vidhana Soudha, located in Bengaluru, is the seat of the state legislature of Karnataka.
It is an imposing building, constructed in a style sometimes described as Mysore Neo-Dravidianand and incorporates elements of Indo-Saracenic and Dravidian styles
The beautiful Ulsoor Lake is spread over an area of 125 acres. It was constructed by Kempegowda II. Boating and swimming pool are the great attractions of the lake.
St. Mary's Basilica is a basilica located in the Archdiocese of Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka.
It is the oldest church in Bangalore and is the only church in the state that has been elevated to the status of a minor basilica.
HAL Aerospace Museum is India's first aerospace museum located at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited premises, in Bangalore.
Established in 2001, the Museum is part of the HAL Heritage Centre and Aero Space Museum, and showcases the growth of the Indian aviation industry and HAL for six decades.
Tipu Sultan's Palace and Fort was originally built by Chikkadeva Raya in mud. Later, Hyder Ali started reconstruction in Indo-Islamic architecture. This was completed by his son, Tipu Sultan, in 1791.
The Hindu temple seen in the courtyard of the fort is the proof of Tipu Sultan's religious tolerance.
Located in the heart of city, set on a 300 acre area, Cubbon Park is a great place to laze around in the lush green paradise. It has a treasure of different species of exotic plants.
The park was named after the erstwhile Commissioner of Bangalore, Sir Mark Cubbon.
Many ornamental and flowering trees, both exotic and indigenous, can be found in the park.
Bannerghatta National Park, near Bangalore, Karnataka, southern India, was founded in 1971 and declared as a national park in 1974.
In 2002 a portion of the park, became a biological reserve, the Bannerghatta Biological Park.
Bellandur Lake is a lake which lies to the southeast of the city of Bangalore, and is the largest lake in the city. It is a part of Bellandur drainage system that drains the southern and the southeastern parts of the city.

Though the incident occurred around January 24 and a complaint has been filed in this regard, the police did not take any action following which, he approached the Commissioner seeking respite.
In his petition, Mr. Chetan wrote that PSI Naveen asked him to leave the area when he was only standing at Church Street and conversing with a friend.
Heated arguments ensued following which Mr. Naveen allegedly attacked Mr. Chetan. Mr. Chetan later went to the police station to file a complaint. Mr. Chetan also alleged that Mr. Naveen humiliated him at the police station and assaulted him demanding apology.
Mr. Chetan wanted the Commissioner to intervene as no action had been taken even after five days of the incident.
Mr. Chetan accompanied Member of Legislative Assembly, Tara, to submit his petition to the City Police Commissioner.
