Some women went on strike for the 'day without women,' others wore red in solidarity, still more posted inspirational quotes to their Instagram. But perhaps the most fun was had by people on Twitter (aren't they always the people having the most fun?) who joined in on a game instigated by the late night game show @Midnight. The rules were pretty straightforward, and went like this: improve a quote by adding a woman.

Below, some of the best responses to the task. We suggest you add to them to your mood board immediately.
