British Police have released six people from custody a short time ago, saying they're satisfied they were not connected in any way to the terrorist attack at Westminster. Officers are appealing for further information about 52-year-old Khalid Masood and have carried out operations across the United Kingdom.

The Federal Government explores its options for tackling the nation's housing affordability crisis in the upcoming budget and there's growing concern about a rush of investors trying to snap up property ahead of any changes to rules. The Treasurer Scott Morrison is himself worried about a resurgence of investor loans taken out in recent months. It's fuelling expectations that the regulator, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) will further tighten lending standards. It comes as the major banks moved late yesterday to raise their mortgage interest rates, following NAB's lead from earlier this week.

Hundreds of schools that cater to disadvantaged students are lifting their enrolments and academic results with the help of philanthropy. An organisation that was the brainchild of businessman David Gonski, has allowed tax-free donor funds to flow to schools for the first time. One school in Sydney's western suburbs that set up a coding factory with the funds, is now seeing a boom in enrolments.
