Funny cat photos, trending news stories, and the best discussions on the internet—these are just a few of the awesome things the official Reddit app does best.
On Reddit, there’s a community for every subject imaginable: your favorite sports team, relationship advice, memes, the latest in news and politics—all in real time.
And if you like gifs (or jifs, jiffys, glyphs, ifs, however you choose to mispronounce it), we’re positive you'll love it.
What’s that you say, girl? “What about a community dedicated solely to images of cats standing on their hind legs?”
We got that, too.
Whether you’re into movies or space travel, baking or weight training, cheesy dad jokes or more NSFW humor, world news or Hollywood gossip—or all of the above—you can instantly share your content and ideas with an audience of millions.
We’re not saying Reddit is like all your favorite apps put together. But if we were saying that, we’d tell you it has:
• the trendy headlines of Twitter
• the educational content of Quora
• the viral pics of Memebase and Imgur
• the jokesters of Tumblr
• the lols of 9GAG and theCHIVE
• the cringeworthy personal stories of FML and Fail Blog
• the rage comics of fourchan
• and the powerful, human stories found only on Reddit.
(Oops, we went full circle.)
So the next time you’re bored and need a break—wait, you’re bored right now? Why are you still reading this? Download the app already!
Those cats won’t stand on their hind legs forever...

An excellent social hub for learning about all kinds of topics like news, games, movies, and more. High praise for being a great tool for discovering more about others and even yourself. The user generated content is the driving force that runs this app and the light mobile version is just as good as the desktop counterpart. It's a better way to connect with people on the internet in general, with a voting system to cater to people's tastes. Bummed I didn't discover it sooner, excited to see what comes out of it next.

The only problem I have now that I am finally getting notification is that I can't seem to acces threads that have been automatically created for long lasting converaations in the comment section. And that it is hard to see how may notifications you have. Outside the apo you can only see 2 of them and inside the app there is no indication by the little letter icon that there is something new there. That would be all. Apart from that a good app.

Great app, but buggier than old version. New changes to minimize / expand dont work all the time. Cant scroll easily anymore if there is a large size gif that crosses over bottom menu. Menu at bottom also blocks views and doesnt work all the time, old version was more useful. Doesn't remember saves / favourites, doesn't return to where you left, some vids dont play automatically. Cant random search subreddits. Fix and will change vote.

I love this app! I can spend hours on reddit learning about valuable information. I can ask specific advice on certain subjects, which I love. This app is sorta like my personal therapist in my pocket. Reddit has really changed my life. I've really come out of my shell and have begun talking about things I'd never really attempt to with anyone face to face or in a group. All and all reddit has been an amazing tool for me to learn more about myself and the world.

Wonderful app. My only complaints are that ads redirect where articles are along the front page without visually changing their position in the app, so that when an article is selected, the user is redirected to a different article because the ad changed the layout. Also, I wish there were a better way to save images on the app itself. Otherwise, very well designed!

I think the app is nice and easy to use, but there are a few bugs that make my experience less than great. For example, when I select a thread to read, it will open one that is either listed a few posts above or below my desired post. Also, because it seems to auto-update my feed as I'm reading a post, when I return from reading a post, I have to search for where I left off as it changes while I'm not on the screen. If these things are adressed, I'll gladly change my rating.

The app worked perfectly fine but the stupid bug fixes keep breaking simple features! When I click on a comment reply, TAKE ME TO THE COMMENT. This used to work fine. Now it just takes me to the thread and I have to scroll through all the threads looking for my comment to read and follow up on the reply.
This is the best app ever. I've spend more time than anything else. Scrolling is the best experience unlike other app like play store. But I recently it is having lots of issue, such as duplicated posts and added its page making it keeps scrolling the page... and Gif doesn't work sometimes, it keeps infinite loading... Please fix
Reddit is hands down the best place to find information on virtually anything on the internet. The interface takes some getting used to but once you have that figured out you'll be living in the app. Just one thing i wish the app had, notifications! You have to go into the app and manually check to see if you've got messages etc which makes you reply late sometimes. Other than that, great app
I will actually pay you if you give me the old version back. I liked it way better when searching for a subreddit brings you directly to the subreddit. I don't mind that it doesn't anymore but please, for the love of God, fix the search. It keeps saying I have to try again. Right now the mobile site works way better than the app.
Fantastic app. Better than any of the other Reddit apps I've used and gets consistent updates. The new layout is really convinient. 2 minor issues: I can't view /r/all only /r/popular now. And I wish there was better support for opening imgur links.
Hugely improved since it first launched. All the bugs are mostly ironed out. Push notifications are amazing. For once I reply to threads in real time, I can have conversations and I love it. Also now I can click on my comments and be taken straight to them in the thread instead of being taken to the page overall and having to search.
For all my community interaction outside of games, music and cartoons I come to reddit. This app makes it easier for interaction on the go. Some networks, companies or websites get it all wrong when they go to mobile. But reddit made a great mobile option. All I need is battery life, wifi and some spare time and I'll be on reddit anytime.
Bugs cause a lot of frustration: Infinite loading that requires a refresh or restart and makes you lose where you were. Also the weird bug where posts will start getting duplicated and cause the screen to jump up and down. Can't go landscape mode, which is bad on my tablet.
The latest version is buggy as hell and worse than before. After searching topic through search function, sometimes it will show the results and then disappeared into the screen of "try again". The search function has so many problems it's difficult to search for older topics. Also, when I want to sort topics by "new", the app will show topics from years ago (antithesis to what it supposed to do), crash or shows the dreaded "try again" screen again.
I love Reddit, I use it too much sure but it can always make a bad day a good one. There are countless communities and there will always be something for you. The only downside to using Reddit isyou will likely spend too much time for it, and like most places on the internet there are a fair amount of trolls (although they get downvoted to oblivion). You will enjoy it, just try not to get sucked in :)
Latest update broke something. When trying to open an article a random article further down the page will open. This happens consistently. Also, you can't see the subreddit info if you enter the subreddit by clicking the name on the main page. This app is now garbage. Go download one of the 3rd party apps.
The app was perfect until today, now when I navigate away from my current page, to answer a text or to even open an external link on Reddit, the thread I am on gets refreshed and it brings me back to the top! It's so irritating.
This is a great app let down by a few bugs. Gifs only load within the first 5 minutes or so after opening the app, after that they simply will not load. The app crashes on a semi regular basis. Also, why when looking at previous comments does it take you to the top of the post? This is especially annoying on big posts.
The search function is literally useless. It does absolutely nothing and I cant find anything, unfortunately I think your search engine is broken. When I search for something on my PC it works, with no problems but whenever I search for something on my phone it's always "no results" no matter what I search and where I search. It's bullshit and it made me change the rating from 5 stars to 3 until this is fixed. Thank you
The latest version (2017) is much better than the previous one. It's easy to use and you actually see PMs! It's taking a while to get used to all the functions moved to the bottom, but otherwise this is worth updating.
Im running a Nexus 6p and this app is horrible. Never loads properly, it's slow, and it gets stuck and I have to restart the app. Another thing that aggravates me is if I bump one of the quick keys at the bottom, I lose my place and have to start over.
Bring back the sliding hamburger menu!!! That is how Android does it and that's how I liked it. Hovering the new menu on the bottom is just a waste of screen real estate... Is it really more intuitive to have buttons with no words instead of a common slide out menu? Nope.
The most recent "upgrade" to the UI is terrible, search results drop for no apparent reason. You screwed the pooch on this update, reddit devs. Edit: The recent "upgrade" yet again worsened reddit mobile. Opening a thread typically results in a different thread opening. I honestly expect more from your dev team.
I'm changing my five star review from about six months ago to one star. Every time they update this app it gets worse. They remove functionality every time, making it harder, not easier, to navigate Reddit. Every update also brings more instability, to the point where it crashes multiple times a day and I have to search for something five or six times before I even get search results (yes, also during off-peak hours). Whatever developer keeps adding "features" and "bug fixes" to this app needs to be fired. They are doing a terrible job.
I like reddit but I dislike the app. Whenever I click on more replys it takes me all the way back to the top of the page. When I click on one of my comments it just goes to the top of the page, how am I supposed to find my comment in 5000 replies? There are several other issues similar to that
The new update has ruined this app. Now it's really inconvenient to collapse threads and even more annoyingly, links don't even work properly anymore. I think I'm going to have to look into an alternate reddit app.
The most recent update got rid of the ability to automatically travel to a specific comment when you click on a notification regarding that comment. This makes the comment system almost unusable. I don't want to search through every comment on the post to find the comment that I commented on that someone else then replied to. It's a pain.
A bloated, slow reader that doesn't compete with unofficial fan apps like RIF and Alienblue. I regularly would be stuck loading GIFs in app when clicking thru to the URL itself loads the gif immediately. Don't install a bottleneck on your phone!
used to have plenty of crashes on the old version but they are fixed now. The only problem I have now is that some gifs or videos won't load when I try to open them. none the less, great app 👍
I can not block users' comment messages. Also, comment reply links from the inbox do not take me to the comment that I clicked on, making it near impossible to reply in large threads. Please fix! Maybe then you'll get something better than 2 stars ;)
Just updated and can no longer partially collapse comment threads, meaning each comment on a post is an 'all or nothing' reading. I'm mainly picking nothing, which is annoying. Bring back partial thread collapsing please!
This app is everything you could hope for in a mobile version, especially since reddit is one of the most frequented sites on the internet. The only problem i have is since the introduction of adds, sometimes the refresh of my feed causes different posts to "jump" around which is actually very aggravating.
latest update broke the ability to go straight to my comment. also broke the back button and loading content. trying to open replies results in going all the way to top of comments. please copy imgur's comment system. geezus. wasnt broke before, why break it now. broke broke broke
New Update has made things annoying. When you get a notification for a comment, it simply opens the whole thread with dirrecting you to the relavent comment. Also you can no long collapse threads by tapping them
I really think this app would be good, if it loaded. Somehow all third party apps I've tried can connect to Reddit and load posts, but the official app is plagued with connection errors. It fails about 2-3 times as often as it works.
Extremely buggy. Search function rarely works. App randomly force closes. Posts show up two sometimes three times. Basic functions are overly complicated and it's just a bad app to maneuver. Easier to use the desktop site on my phone.
App runs well enough but gyfcat gifs won't always play and it freezes after a certain about of use, requiring a restart of the app. App also crashes a lot. how am I supposed to Reddit if I can't binge Reddit!?!?? Still better than the one I was using, which started autoplaying ads even when it was in the background.
After the new updated UI, it takes two presses to collapse a comment thread. You used to be able to touch in the blank space directly below the user's name to collapse it. Now that no longer works, and you have to hit the drop down and then collapse. Any way to bring back the single touch collapse? I've also noticed the drag scroll doesn't always read correctly when too close to the right side of the screen. Have to move my finger to the middle to get it to read.
I have used a lot of Reddit clients and this one I like the best. No in app purchases, no ads , only content. Sure, there are some flaws and some problems, but it's getting fixed in updates. Give this a try and you won't be disappointed.
