In the city of Adana,
During the darkest days of the Ottoman Empire,
There was a tragedy that marked the start,
of what was to become known as the Armenian Genocide.
The people of Armenia were forced into starvation, torture and extermination,
Armenian homes were burnt to the ground,

History
The history of the Tepebağ tumulus in the middle of Adana dates to the Neolithic Period, 6000 B.C., and the time of the first human settlements. It is considered to be the oldest city of the Çukurova region. A place called Adana is mentioned by name in a Sumerian epic, the Epic of Gilgamesh, but the geography of this work is too imprecise to identify its location.
According to the Hittite inscription of Kava, found in Hattusa (Boğazkale), Kizzuwatna was the first kingdom that ruled Adana, under the protection of the Hittites by 1335 BC. At that time, the name of the city was Uru Adaniyya, and the inhabitants were called Danuna. Beginning with the collapse of the Hittite Empire, c. 1191-1189 BC, invasions from the west caused a number of small kingdoms to take control of the plain, as follows: Quwê Assyrians, 9th century BC; Persians, 6th century BC; Alexander the Great in 333 BC; Seleucids; the pirates of Cilicia; Roman statesman Pompey the Great; and the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia (Cilician Kingdom).

Adana'da güvercinlerinin çalındığı iddiasıyla bir evi basıp 15 bin lira para isteyen şahsı pompalı tüfekle öldürdüğü ileri sürülen zanlı adliyeye sevk edildi.
Edinilen bilgiye göre, olay dün Seyhan ilçesi Denizli Mahallesi 57180 Sokak'taki evde meydana geldi. İddiaya göre, Sinan G.'nin (34) bir süre önce 12 güvercini çalındı. Sinan G. güvercinini Uğurcan A.'nın (22) çaldığını ileri sürerek dün arkadaşlarıyla birlikte Uğurcan A.'nın evine gitti. Sinan G. önce güvercinlerini istedi ancak alamadı. Bunun üzerine Sinan G. 12 güvercinine karşılık 15 bin lira para istedi. Sinan G. parayı da alamayınca kavga çıkardı. Uğurcan A. pitbull cinsi köpeği Sinan G.'nin üzerine gönderip evden aldığı pompalı tüfekle ateş etti. Sinan G. vurularak ağır yaralandı. Sinan G. arkadaşları tarafından özel bir hastaneye götürüldü. Zanlı ise kaçtı. Polis olayın ardından çalışma başlattı. Yapılan çalışmada zanlı kısa sürede yakalandı. Sinan G. ise özel hastaneden sevk edildiği Adana Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi'nde hayatını kaybetti.
Zanlı emniyette sorgulandıktan sonra sağlık kontrolünden geçirilmek üzere adli tıp birimine götürüldü. Burada basın mensuplarının "Neden öldürdün" sorusu üzerine "Anamın gözyaşı aktı herkesin akacak" diye yanıt verdi.
Zanlı daha sonra adliyeye götürüldü.

Adana
Adana (pronounced [aˈda.na]) is a major city in southern Turkey. The city is situated on the Seyhan river, 35 km (22 mi) inland from the Mediterranean Sea, in south-central Anatolia. It is the administrative seat of the Adana Province and has a population of 1.71 million, making it the fifth most populous city in Turkey. Adana-Mersin polycentric metropolitan area, with a population of 3 million, stretches over 70 km (43 mi) east-west and 25 km (16 mi) north-south; encompassing the cities of Mersin, Tarsus and Adana.
Adana lies in the heart of Çukurova, a geo-cultural region that covers the provinces of Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, and Hatay. Home to 6 million people, Çukurova is one of the largest population concentrations in Turkey, as well as the most agriculturally productive area, owing to its large stretch of flat, fertile land.
Etymology
According to numerous sources, the name Adana is derived from the Hittite URUAdaniya of Kizzuwatna, while others assert that it is related to the legendary character Danaus, or to the Danaoi, a mythological Greek tribe who came from Egypt and established themselves in the Greek city Argos. The earlier Egyptian texts for a country Danaja are inscriptions from Thutmosis II (1437 BC) and Amenophis III (1390-1352 BC). After the collapse of the Mycenean civilization (1200 BC) some refugeees from the Aegean area went to the coast of Cilicia. The inhabitants Dananayim or Danuna are identified as one group of the sea-peoples who attacked Egypt on 1191 BC during the reign of Ramesses III. Denyen are identified as inhabitants of the city Adana. It is also possible that the name is connected with the PIE da-nu (river) Da-na-vo (people living by the river), Scythian nomad people, water demons in Rigveda (Danavas).

Adana'da güvercinlerinin çalındığı iddiasıyla bir evi basıp 15 bin lira para isteyen şahsı pompalı tüfekle öldürdüğü ileri sürülen zanlı adliyeye sevk edildi.
Edinilen bilgiye göre, olay dün Seyhan ilçesi Denizli Mahallesi 57180 Sokak'taki evde meydana geldi. İddiaya göre, Sinan G.'nin (34) bir süre önce 12 güvercini çalındı. Sinan G. güvercinini Uğurcan A.'nın (22) çaldığını ileri sürerek dün arkadaşlarıyla birlikte Uğurcan A.'nın evine gitti. Sinan G. önce güvercinlerini istedi ancak alamadı. Bunun üzerine Sinan G. 12 güvercinine karşılık 15 bin lira para istedi. Sinan G. parayı da alamayınca kavga çıkardı. Uğurcan A. pitbull cinsi köpeği Sinan G.'nin üzerine gönderip evden aldığı pompalı tüfekle ateş etti. Sinan G. vurularak ağır yaralandı. Sinan G. arkadaşları tarafından özel bir hastaneye götürüldü. Zanlı ise kaçtı. Polis olayın ardından çalışma başlattı. Yapılan çalışmada zanlı kısa sürede yakalandı. Sinan G. ise özel hastaneden sevk edildiği Adana Numune Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi'nde hayatını kaybetti.
Zanlı emniyette sorgulandıktan sonra sağlık kontrolünden geçirilmek üzere adli tıp birimine götürüldü. Burada basın mensuplarının "Neden öldürdün" sorusu üzerine "Anamın gözyaşı aktı herkesin akacak" diye yanıt verdi.
Zanlı daha sonra adliyeye götürüldü.

A specialty's name sometimes includes that of a city or region, either in or outside of Turkey, and may refer to the specific technique or ingredients used in that area. For example, the difference between urfa kebab and adana kebab is the thickness of the skewer and the amount of hot pepper that kebab contains. Urfa kebab is less spicy and thicker than adana kebab.

The first thing we did in the morning in Istanbul was drive over to Beşiktaş to eat an amazing Turkish food breakfast at a restaurant called Çakmak Kahvaltı Salonu. From there we took the ferry across the Bosphorus to Kadiköy, where we had an incredible Turkish seafood meal for lunch. Finally, we enjoyed some Turkish ice cream, and the show, and had the most incredible kebab I’ve ever had in my life at Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant. It was an amazing day of Turkish food in Istanbul!
1:27 Turkish breakfast at Çakmak Kahvaltı Salonu - For breakfast we headed to Beşiktaş, one of my favorite areas of Istanbul, and went to a restaurant known for serving breakfast. The breakfast was amazing, and I ate a dish of eggs with beef and butter. The side dishes were also fantastic. Total price - 29 TL ($9.73)
7:40 Boat to Kadiköy and Kadiköy Market - During our trip so far to Istanbul, we hadn’t had a chance to go to the Asian side of Istanbul. So today, we took the ferry over to Kadiköy pier on the Asian side across the Bosphorus. The views of Istanbul from the Bosphorus were stunning. On the other side, the main thing I wanted to do was explore Kadiköy Market, which was every bit as colorful as I had imagined. The fresh vegetables and seafood were fantastic, and I tried a cup of pickle juice.

12:45 Seafood lunch at Balıkçı Lokantası Restaurant - Of all the meals I ate in Istanbul, this was one of my personal favorites, being a seafood lover. Not a far walk from the market, we went to a local family run seafood restaurant called Balıkçı Lokantası Restaurant. The owners were really friendly, and I ordered a plate of hamsi (which are anchovies), and I’m not sure of the name of the other dish, but I got Black Sea salmon braised in olive oil and butter I think with herbs and spices. It was one of the best Turkish foods I ate the entire trip to Istanbul. Wow, it was amazing.
20:50 Turkish Ice Cream - After spending some time exploring the Asian side of Istanbul, we took the ferry back to the European side, and since Istiklal Street was on our route, we stopped to have Turkish ice cream. You also see Turkish ice cream vendors playing with their customers, but when you’re the victim, it’s so confusing and funny. They have some serious skills playing with Turkish ice cream. Do you like Turkish ice cream?
23:49 Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant - For our final Turkish food meal of the day, we headed over to Zübeyir Ocakbaşı Restaurant. Ocakbaşı is a type of Turkish grill, and they served all sorts of different meat included kebabs and lamb chops in particular. We also got a bunch of side dishes and they cooked the kebabs and lamb chops right in front of us within the center of the restaurant. The kebab was the best I’ve ever had in my mouth, with an amazing mixture of minced meat and spices. Total price - 100 TL ($33.55). We begin our journey in Istanbul, golden gateway to the Orient, a city that was once the centre of the Old World and still reflects two and a half centuries of history. On the opposite side of the Galata Bridge on the banks of the Golden Horn is the Yeni Cami Mosque with a large number of domes and minarets built one on top of the other plus a number of precious glass windows. The Grand Basare is a city within a city. Through a large gate there is a labyrinth of corridors that were built over many centuries. The enclosed market contains more than four thousand shops within its seemingly endless halls and it is possible to buy almost anything here. A vivid world full of the aromas of the orient. Near to the west coast of Turkey situated between Troy and Ephesos is one of the most famous and well preserved ancient cities of this region, Pergamon. This, in the Hellenic era, was an ancient cosmopolitan city the traces of which are still visible today. Marmaris is situated on the Turkish Riviera and was once well protected by a mediaeval fortress. In 1522 Sultan Süleyman The Splendid enlarged the small castle of the former Roman rulers as he wished to conquer the island of Rhodes. Ankara is the capital of the Republic of Turkey and this once Anatolian provincial backwater is today one of the country’s most modern cities and is a vibrant world metropolis. The biggest mosque in Turkey is the Kocatepe Camii which is both a symbol of the devoutness of the Turkish people as well as being an important centre of communication for the entire city. Turkey is a country of many faces, with fairytale-like mosques and palaces, legendary ancient cities and fascinating landscapes. Prosecutors say a NY man repeatedly traveled to the Middle East to try to join the Islamic State or al-Nusra Front extremist groups and told authorities he'd been prepared to sacrifice himself for jihad. Documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice show Redzepagic was in contact with an ISIS recruit and traveled to Adana, Turkey, in 2015 where he made several unsuccessful attempts to cross the border into Syria ... ....
