Liam Jon Dreja, 32, of Woodvale, was charged last month over the alleged sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl.

The offence is alleged to have happened between 8pm and midnight on February 14.

But in court on Thursday three new charges were brought against him.

Mr Dreja, who faced court wearing a sling on his left arm, faces the additional charges of stupefying in order to commit an indictable offence, attempted sexual penetration of a child under 13 and threat with intent to compel the doing of an act.

WAtoday understands the new charge of stupefying in order to commit an indictable offence relates to an allegation Mr Dreja drugged the 11-year-old girl.

Mr Dreja was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on April 18. He has not yet entered pleas.
