Short courses 2 courses

Duration: 1000 hours
EAP is a university and TAFE preparation course. It is designed for students with upper intermediate to advanced levels of English who want to gain admission to an Australian TAFE, undergraduate or postgraduate course.
Duration: 13 weeks
Foundations at VU is a fully funded 13 week course providing you an alternative pathway, if you didn't meet direct entry requirements, to reach your goal of studying a higher education undergraduate or diploma course.

1 course

Undertake an initial program in physical education and sport science and then complete an accredited masters program in secondary teaching.

TAFE certificates & diplomas 2 courses

Duration: 1 year
This course teaches you the hands on practical skills of remedial massage as well as the theoretical knowledge required to assess your clients' soft tissue dysfunction.
Duration: 1 year
Develop your skills in the sport and recreation industry gaining knowledge in project management, and facilitating and coordinating teams and groups.

This double degree provides you with the capabilities and understandings of human movement, and the structure, practices and participant needs of the Australian sport, exercise and active recreation sector.

Gain the practical management and leadership skills to help young in the role of youth work. Youth work seeks to promote young peoples personal and social development and enable them to have a voice, influence and place in their communities and society as a whole.

Postgraduate 6 courses

Duration: 1.5 years
This course follows a research or evidence-based teaching approach regarding the scope of practice of clinical exercise physiology. You will gain experience in clinical placement in hospitals, industry and the broader community.
Duration: 1 year
The Graduate Diploma in Sport Business and Integrity addresses the dual responsibilities sport managers now have.
Duration: 1.5 years
The Master of Sport Business and Integrity addresses the pressures that contemporary sport managers face when having to deal with their core obligations.
Duration: 0.5 years
This course addresses the continuing concern about sport’s capacity to act on the positive social values it has traditionally upheld.
Duration: 0.5 years
This course provides a holistic education in the areas of sports science, coaching, strength and conditioning and management of association football (soccer).
Duration: 1.5 years
This course will provide you with a holistic education in the field of football science. It has an applied theoretical focus as well as practical experience.

Our Office for Research provides support to our current and future researchers, such as:

  • identify a research topic
  • find a supervisor
  • apply for research supervision or grants.
Duration: 2 years
Develop a capacity for solutions through independent research and problem analysis. You will expand and develop specialist knowledge in your chosen field of research and provide evidence of independent thought and the ability to manage a research project.
Duration: 2 years
Staff will supervise graduate research in many areas of specialisation, such as the Master of Arts, history, philosophy of sport, sociology of physical education and sport management.
Duration: 4 years
The Doctoral degree in Sport and Recreation is an advanced research program offered across VU’s research focus areas and the major disciplines of our academic Colleges.

The Doctoral degree in Human Movement (PhD) is an advanced research program offered across VU’s research focus areas and the major disciplines of our academic Colleges.
VU has an outstanding reputation in the sports industry and I had heard about the industry connections and opportunities that are provided for students. Cementing my current position at Basketball ACT has given me the opportunity to work within the industry that I have a passion for and put the attributes I gained during my studies into practice.
