Manage AdWords sitelinks

Apply or remove AdWords sitelinks

While you can add a single sitelink to campaigns or ad groups when you create the sitelink in DoubleClick Search, if you want to apply or remove multiple sitelinks that already exist, do any of the following:

  • Apply or remove sitelinks in DoubleClick Search

  • Apply or remove sitelinks by uploading a bulksheet

Ad groups inherit sitelinks from campaigns by default, so you only need to apply sitelinks directly to an ad group if you haven't specified sitelinks for a campaign, or if you want to override the inheritance.

To see the sitelinks that are currently applied to the campaign, include the Sitelinks column in the reporting table.

The Applies to option shows the number of campaigns you selected.

You also have the option to select all campaigns across all pages matching the filter.

    1. Apply or remove sitelinks.

      • To add sitelinks, leave Add selected. Click Select sitelinks.

For information about how to a create sitelink and apply it to campaigns, see the steps in Create a sitelink in DoubleClick Search.
  5. To schedule the sitelink changes to occur at a specific time or on a recurring basis:
    • Under Start, select At later time or Recurring.
    • If needed, use the Revert option to undo the changes at a certain time.
    • Enter a name that's meaningful to you. To see a summary of your scheduled edits, or to pause, resume, or remove them, click Scheduled edits in the left nav.  Note that DS will list a maximum of 2000 scheduled edits on the Scheduled edits page.
    • Enter the email addresses of the users to be notified of these changes. DS will send email when the scheduled edit completes.

For more information about editing campaigns or ad groups in bulk, see the steps in Edit campaigns or ad groups in bulk.

  6. Click Save, and then in the pop-up message, click Yes, I understand to continue.

Once you start a bulk edit for a large group of items, DS may need some time to apply the edits. In the meantime, DS does not start applying other bulk edits that you might start in the engine account, or bulk edits that were scheduled to start, until the current edit is finished. That is, there can only be one active bulk edit per engine account at a time.

A line above the reporting table displays the progress of the bulk edit. If needed, you can attempt to cancel the edits. It's possible to cancel a bulk edit while objects are being sent to the engine; click More details to display the Bulk operations page and see which edits were fully processed before cancellation. However, if you click Cancel too late in the process, DS will finish all the edits.
