Connection with Black Liberation Theology

I notice there are separate articles on Liberation Theology and on Black Liberation Theology. Both are in need of "filling out." Could that begin by linking the two and tracing their common history?Akarr (talk) 13:09, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Inclusion of Dietrich Bonhoeffer

User:Dr._B._R._Lang erase reference to Dietrich Bonhoeffer arguing that he was not in Liberation theology. It can be consider included in Social Christianity, as his acts and theology support that view. Resisting Nazism wasn't independent of his theology. Bolding of "Liberation theology" in the "key concepts" section

on sat dec 13, 2008, the phrase "liberation theology" appears in bold when I view this box. I have looked at the source, and do not see any reason for the bolding... OK I understand. I am viewing this box on the "Liberation theology" page, so wikipedia bolds this entry in this template somehow. ( Martin | talk • contribs )

JP II

while pope john paul II did espouse and promote tenets of social and economic justice, often quite forcefully, he also argued forcefully against liberation theology, and cracked down very harshly on its adherents & proponents. Under jp ii, the Church became quite infamous, esp among progressives, for its repression of liberation theology. As such, i don't think he should be included in this list. Also, jp ii didn't really break new ground in the Church's social teaching, unlike pope leo, who is rightfully included in this list. if jp ii were included, then i think we could, or should, add most of the popes who followed leo in the 20th cent, and i think that'd be excessive (and an excessively Catholic/papal list). Therefore, at least 4 now, i'm removing jp ii, pending further discussion or objection. Beansandveggies (talk) 05:31, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
