As they crash Britain out of the EU, cutting us off completely from the investment, skills, and markets on which our economy relies, the Tories will no doubt claim that they are implementing the will of the people.

Domestic violence destroys lives. We need to keep on empowering women to come forward, knowing they have the full backing of the justice system and they won't be failed. As a Conservative, and a women, I am enormously proud that this Government is working to protect the most vulnerable women.

It's important to look where we've come from and celebrate the milestones on our journey. But we need to keep a firm eye on the destination and make sure we keep moving forwards. If we lose focus or take our foot off the pedal, progress on gender equality can easily be lost.

Did you go to a grammar school? And if you did, did you get a good education? If the answer to both those questions is Yes, you may very well have welcomed the government's pledge in the budget this week to make extra money available for new schools that will be allowed to choose their pupils according to academic ability...

The decision to leave the European Union is a hammer blow for equality. Whether its economic impact, our capacity to advocate for our sisters around the world or the battles ahead for our freedoms at work and in society, much is now at stake. Yet as the Prime Minister now presses ahead with hard Brexit, the challenge for us all is to find ways not only to protect what we have achieved to date but to continue to champion the power of equality to change all our lives for the better.  

Hammond has brought much cheer to the country and may be forgiven one mistake, though it may need to be reviewed. In the longer term, he must steel himself against the demonic determination of the Treasury to take the easier choice of raising tax, instead of continuing to cut levels of public spending.

Bralo tells me that it is important to give a platform to refugees and migrants so that their voices are listened to, and action is taken to bring justice. But it's not as simple as it seems. This needs to be done in a meaningful way. We need to avoid these efforts being just tokenistic.

Deep down , many women fear they are not worth more. That, in truth, they're a fraud. They'll be found out. They don't really know what they're talking about. They are not...they won't...and they do. Every one of us has a unique bundle of experience to bring to our roles, and we need to learn its value.

The theme for International Women's Day 2017 was Be Bold for Change. An important part of that change is having more women of colour in leadership positions around the world. However, while being individually 'bold' is important, it is never going to be enough.

Working with migrants who are sleeping rough is challenging and complex work. We often get asked about the approach we take and the partners we work with, in particular what our relationship is with the Home Office in such cases.

When the Government announced that no further child refugees would be brought over under the Dubs Scheme, we were deeply disappointed. We did not accept that there was only room for 400 vulnerable children, not when there are 217 local authorities with responsibility for safeguarding children. This is why we tabled an amendment to the Children and Social Work Bill.

But the bottom line is that the government needs money to run public services and things that the private sector either can't or doesn't want to do. That money comes predominantly from taxation in one form or another. To have turned taxation into the most sacred of all sacred cows is an act of supreme folly and self-delusion. We cheat ourselves by not talking about tax or condemning those who do.

Yes I would much rather a Labour government than a Tory one. I believe it would be easier to influence and work with them then the Tories. But as for joining them as a member or voting for them, it's not an option for me based on what I've said above.

Much has been written with reference to the EU Referendum discussing the oft repeated phrase "the will of the people." The phrase has been taken to be a key definition of democracy but in my view there are several reasons why such a definition is problematic.

Being the only female candidate in this mayoral race means I stand out. But I want to stand out because of what I stand for, not just because I am a woman. And that means making sure every vote counts.
