In the late 70s, Die Grünen (The Greens) emerged as a new force on the German and European left. Radical and activist led, they claimed to be aware of the pitfalls of the electoral process and were, in their own words, an ‘anti-party party’. En el Norte del Cauca el proceso de reforma agraria impulsado desde el INCORA abrió espacios de discusión y reflexión colectiva de campesinos e indígenas, articulados en la ANUC, sobre el derecho a la tierra y la reforma agraria. Además, militantes importantes no indígenas, como el sacerdote Pedro León Rodríguez y Gustavo Mejía, impulsaron procesos de lucha por la tierra entre campesinos e indígenas que permitió alcanzar un cúmulo de experiencias de organización popular que poco tiempo después serían importantes para la conformación del CRIC . Gustavo Mejía fundó para 1970 el Frente Social Agrario, FRESAGRO e impulsó las dos primeras asambleas del CRIC, su compromiso con la lucha por la tierra llegó a su fin cuando fue asesinado en Corinto el primero de marzo de 1974 . Por su parte Pedro León Rodríguez, conocido como el “cura rojo”, participó en procesos de lucha por la vivienda en Corinto, estuvo activo en los procesos de ocupación de tierra en Santa Elena y fundó el movimiento Unidad Popular que posteriormente se articuló a FRESAGRO luego, tras la formación del CRIC, convocó a los sacerdotes del Cauca a dar apoyo a la nueva organización. On Wednesday, the Minister of Finance of South Africa stood up in the circus that passes itself off as
a National Parliament and without any sense of irony what-so- ever declared that the South African
state’s budget for 2017 was redistributive and progressive. If the Minister was to be believed,
therefore, the budget was aimed at making a dent in the substantial class and racial inequalities that
exist in the country. To back this up, supporters pointed out that the tax rate on top earners was
raised marginally in the budget and people receiving dividends from shares would have to pay 5%
more on these in tax. Despite this, one word could sum up the idea that the budget presented was
redistributive and progressive: bullshit.
Rather the budget presented by Minister Pravin Gordhan was yet again another attack on the working
class. What the budget did was to favour corporations at the expense of the poor. In doing so, it
remained based on the neoliberal dogma that has defined South Africa’s post-apartheid politics. In
other words, the budget was a vivid demonstration of how the state is an instrument and weapon of
the ruling class that functions to benefit that class. This can be seen throughout the budget, including
how the state plans to raise money and how it plans to spend it. read full story / add a comment

En las noticias ha quedado la última marcha de las FARC-EP, en que 6.500 guerrilleros marcharon hacia las 26 zonas veredales en que se concentrarán en la transición hacia la vida civil. Desde las profundidades de Argelia, Cauca, y seguidos de cerca por observadores de la ONU, salieron en dirección a la zona veredal de Buenos Aires (Cauca) los miembros del Frente 60 de las FARC-EP, “Jaime Pardo Leal”. El cariño de la comunidad, cuando salieron el 29 de Enero del 2017 quedó plasmado en un video hecho por lugareños, en el cual sin miedo, hablan y expresan su agradecimiento a una organización que sienten como una parte importante de su mundo. Que las FARC-EP hayan renunciado a la política con armas, no significa que el Estado haya renunciado a la política con armas: eso jamás hay que olvidarlo. Hoy, la única defensa que tienen las comunidades es su propia organización y la defensa a ultranza de su autonomía. read full story / add a comment
