Μπροστά σε αυτές τις συνθήκες δεν μπορούμε παρά να στεκόμαστε δίπλα τους. Βλέπετε, είμαστε και εμείς κόσμος που αγωνιά για το τι θα του ξημερώσει. Οι περισσότεροι και οι περισσότερες εξαντλώντας τις μέρες μας σε κακοπληρωμένες δουλειές ή ψάχνοντας για μία. Άλλοι από εδώ και άλλες έχοντας επιλέξει αυτόν τον τόπο για να ζήσουμε. Το 2014, σχεδόν 4.000 πτώματα ανθρώπων περισυνελέγησαν από τη Μεσόγειο. Κι αυτός ο αριθμός αντιπροσωπεύει, μόνο τα πτώματα που βρέθηκαν. Το παρακάτω κείμενο αφιερώνεται στους διοργανωτές της πορείας της 23ης Μάη στη γερμανική Πρεσβεία αλλά και της προσπάθειας των 3 γεφυρών, που –ματαίως- επιδιώκουν να θέσουν στο κέντρο του προβληματισμού το διεθνές ζήτημα αν και από διαφορετική οπτική γωνιά. A la vez, por el hecho de que nuestros territorios, aún viven la pesadilla de la injusticia social basada en la orden post-colonial, además tenemos al “gran hermano del norte”, como nuestro tormento permanente. Like in 2008, the recent wave of anti-immigrant violence and looting of foreign-owned stores that followed King Zwelithini’s statement that foreigners must “pack their bags and leave” quickly spread to cities and townships across the country. Unlike other places in Johannesburg, however, there were no reports of xenophobic violence in Thembelihle and, although the violence spread to numerous parts of Soweto in 2008, this adjacent township was unaffected then too. This article, based on an interview with an activist from the Thembelihle Crisis Committee (TCC), looks at how working class self-organisation and solidarity helped curb or prevent the outbreak of xenophobic attacks and attempts to draw lessons for preventing future attacks. read full story / add a comment

Les nouvelles images de jeunes noires de Baltimore résistant à la police anti-émeutes ne sont pas sans rappeler celles des manifestations de Ferguson l’été dernier. Elles ne sont également pas sans rappeler les émeutes de Los Angeles en 1992, tout comme les nombreux soulèvements populaires aux Etats-Unis contre les crimes policiers racistes en 1968. Et l’on pourrait remonter encore plus loin dans l’histoire de ce pays. Il existe de nombreuses histoires de ce genre. La liste des morts imputés à la violence d’un état raciste est longue. Beaucoup en viennent donc à se demander si n’est pas venu pour eux le moment d’abattre ce système capitaliste raciste ?

Saturday police in Greece batoned and tear gassed protesters outside one of the migrant detention camps now being run by Syriza. Militant protests both inside and outside the camp resumed last weekend after the suicide of a Pakistani migrant, Nadim Mohammed who had been held for 18 months, released and then returned to the Amygdaleza camp. Libertarian Syndicalist Union (ESE Athens) supports and joins in solidarity movements for the Syrian refugees (victims of war) which live in Greece. Apart from their fair request for direct provision of asylum and travel documents, these people have huge needs in terms of accommodation, food, health care, etc. Hundreds of Syrian refugees reside in hotels (as a stopgap solution), not in good conditions , being under the responsibility of the Greek government and Athens' mayor. J'ai écrit récemment un bref article intitulé Je ne suis pas Charlie, sur les réactions provoquées par le massacre de membres de la rédaction de Charlie Hebdo ainsi que sur certains contenus du journal, en particulier la banalisation du meurtre de musulmans. Cet article, qui a été publié sur divers sites et blogs*, a déclenché une forte polémique qui, comme il fallait s’y attendre, n'a pas eu forcément à voir avec l'intention de l'article, mais qui a cependant servi à stimuler un débat, qu’on cherche actuellement de toutes parts à étouffer par des slogans simplistes. Un ami disait que la seule chose qui vaille la peine d'être écrite c’est celle qui dérange le pouvoir et la pensée hégémonique, même si elle se camoufle en « alternative ».
