Fugazi is an American post-hardcore band that formed in Washington, D.C. in 1987. The band consists of guitarists and vocalists Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto, bassist Joe Lally and drummer Brendan Canty.
Fugazi are noted for their DIY ethical stance, manner of business practice, and contempt towards the music industry.
Fugazi have performed numerous worldwide tours, produced six studio albums, a film and a comprehensive live series, gaining the band critical acclaim and success around the world. Fugazi has been on indefinite hiatus since 2003.
After the hardcore punk group Minor Threat dissolved, Ian MacKaye (vocals and guitar) was active with a few short-lived groups, most notably Embrace. MacKaye decided he wanted a project that was "like The Stooges with reggae", but was wary about forming another band after Embrace's break up. MacKaye recalled, "My interests were not necessarily to be in a band, but to be with people who wanted to play music with me."
A waiting room is a building, or more commonly a part of a building, where people sit or stand until the event which they are waiting for happens and begins.
There are generally two types of waiting room. One is where individuals leave one at a time, for instance at a doctor's office, hospital, or outside a school headmaster's office. The other is where people leave en masse such as those at railway stations, bus stations, and airports. These two examples also highlight the difference between waiting rooms where one is asked to wait (private waiting rooms) and waiting rooms one can just enter at will (public waiting rooms).
Most waiting rooms contain seats for people so they do not have to stand. Some have adjacent toilets. It is not uncommon to find vending machines in public waiting rooms or books and magazines in private waiting rooms. In some countries there are special waiting rooms especially for those who have paid for them, for example at airports and railway stations. These will generally be less crowded and will have superior seating and more facilities.

FUGAZI Live recording ive had for almost 20 years from my bootleg trading days. Its a protest performance they did in front of The White House for the first illegal war on Iraq(Gulf War 1). This is just something i wanted to throw out there, since my friend Kristopher who was posting Fugazi songs on FB, reminded me that i have this recording. And that i had noticed that there is only one song from this performance on YouTube.. I dedicate this upload to him, my Skater hommies from High School, the Poro's crew BHC house and those of you i know who are big fans.. Even though, im still all about Minor Threat... lol! 1. Steady Diet of Nothing is the second full-length studio album by American post-hardcore band Fugazi, released in July, 1991. The title is taken from a quote by the late American stand-up comedian Bill Hicks. Although well received and popular at the time of its release, Steady Diet is often overlooked by many music journalists when writing about Fugazi's career, but remains a favorite among fans of the band. 00:00 Exit Only 03:12 Reclamation 06:33 Nice New Outfit 10:00 Stack 13:09 Latin Roots 16:21 Steady Diet 20:03 Long Division 22:15 Runaway Return 26:15 Polish 29:53 Dear Justice Letter 33:20 KYEO

During the course of the interview, Ian discusses how Fugazi started, their operations and the reason behind the public stances they have taken over their careers. The one thing I would say about Ian is that he is intense and strongly believes in his opinions. I felt sometimes that he would test me in his answers to see if I felt the same way. After all was said and done, I felt like I met one of the most inspiring people in my life.

(Subtitled in Italian) This is a short film documentary made by the award winning FLUID VIDEO CREW out of Rome, Italy. The interviews were shot around Rome a few days before the FUCK YOU ALL exhibition opened at the "Museo Laboratorio di Arte Contemporanea". The Exhibition in Roma was one of the best to date, around 2000 people attended the opening night with up to few hundred a day after that, and around 600 on the very last day. This film attempts to corral a few of Glen's thoughts onto film. From the early days of Dogtown skateboarding, hardcore punk rock, hip-hop, politics, and discussion of his own artistic aesthetic. Music from Black Flag, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, MinuteMen, Ice-T, Adolescents, Run-DMC, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Fugazi, and more.

By Travis Keller at BUDDYHEAD A few months ago while I was working for my friend, Shepard Fairey, I had the chance to not only meet one of my most influential childhood idols but also interview him. Glen E. Friedman is for photography like Black Flag is to my friends who picked up a guitar after realizing that they themselves could "do that too!" I saw what Glen was doing... just basically shooting his friends skateboarding, making art, having fun, making music and documenting all the cool shit that was happening around him... and that no one else was documenting either... and I figured I could do the same thing with a 1980 35mm Canon A-1 hand-me-down camera (which I still use to this day). Just so happens that Glen's friends included Minor Threat (and later Fugazi), Black Flag, Beastie ...

The last interview of our road trip. From the very beginning of the trip, we HAD to make it to Washington D.C. for election night - We never told anyone why, I'm sure all assumed it was because of the White House and our traveling during an election year. It was not. It was because the one person that came to mind as far as the trust you want in your politicians was Ian MacKaye. Amy and I both have been fans of his work since the early days of Minor Threat, so this was a big deal to us and Ian did not let us down. He was another one of those sages of the road, he had all the answers we were seeking, and seemed to answer questions before we asked them. This was the perfect end to our road trip and the perfect interview to end out book with.
