Road Test
This week I try ... an all-purpose facial
The lowdown Autumn has officially arrived, making it time for a trans-seasonal skin reboot. I'm trying the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Ultimate Facial, which combines a circulation boosting facial, décolletage and scalp massage (based on the effleurage techniques developed by Elizabeth herself), soothing hot stones placed on my upper body and a hand-andarm treatment. How could I resist? It starts with a health assessment of my skin, focusing on pigmentation, elasticity and texture. Tick. After a thorough cleanse and natural enzyme peel, the divine massage session begins, followed by a soothing mask and finishing up with an oxygen infusion using an air compressor that delivers an oxygenated mineral serum onto my skin.
Pain factor Needless to say, there was absolutely no pain involved.
Downtime 90 minutes.
The results I carry a lot of tension in my face and by the end of the massaging treatment, the strain had all drained away, leaving me looking relaxed and less puffy.
Where to get it Selected David Jones stores; 1800 015 500. Cost: $85.
At home To keep up the good work, try Elizabeth Arden Anti-Aging + Intense Repair Daily Serum, $265, davidjones.com.au.
Ask Stephanie
What is the best way to curl lashes?
Lashes are quite fragile, so curl them only once (before applying mascara) by clamping the curler tightly on them as close to the roots as possible and holding for a good 10 seconds. Try the prince of curlers: Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, $32, davidjones.com.au.
