This is a scene from one of Elvis' most unusual films. First of all it didn't have a soundtrack of its own. Instead some of Elvis' early 60ies Nashville recordings were used. Therefore "Tickle Me" has one of the best soundtracks of any of Elvis' films. Secondly: Although it seems to be just another of those formulatic 60ies musical comedies it's in fact more than that. I've always considered this to be a parody of the typical "Presley travelogue" since everything is so exaggerated it only could have been intended. Third: This one has Jocelyn Lane which is easily the hottest co-star ever to appear in an Elvis movie. Compared to her Ann-Margret seems lame.

'Tickle Me' was Elvis' eighteenth film and was made for Allied Artists. This movie was at one time tentatively titled 'Rodeo' and then 'Isle of Paradise'. Eventually, 'Tickle Me' was chosen.
Elvis stars as Lonnie Beale, a singing rodeo cowboy who moonlights as a handyman at a beauty spa. Though several women try to catch the attention of Lonnie, including spa owner Vera Radford, played by Julie Adams, the rodeo rider falls for Pam Merritt. Pam, portrayed by Jocelyn Lane, is visiting the spa to investigate a nearby ghost town where her grandfather has supposedly hidden a cache of gold.
Pam enlists the help of Lonnie and his sidekick Stanley, played by Jack
Mullaney, to recover the treasure. Unscrupulous locals, also looking for
the gold, try to frighten the hapless trio into leaving the territory, but the three eventually prevail. Lonnie and Pam marry at the end, marking one of the few times that one of Elvis's characters actually weds on-screen.

Julie Adams and Jocelyn Lane co-star. The screenplay was written by Elwood Ullman and Edward Bernds, who had written The Three Stooges film shorts and theatrical films as well as scripts for The Bowery Boys.

This is a scene from one of Elvis' most unusual films. First of all it didn't have a soundtrack of its own. Instead some of Elvis' early 60ies Nashville recordings were used. Therefore "Tickle Me" has one of the best soundtracks of any of Elvis' films. Secondly: Although it seems to be just another of those formulatic 60ies musical comedies it's in fact more than that. I've always considered this to be a parody of the typical "Presley travelogue" since everything is so exaggerated it only could have been intended. Third: This one has Jocelyn Lane which is easily the hottest co-star ever to appear in an Elvis movie. Compared to her Ann-Margret seems lame.

'Tickle Me' was Elvis' eighteenth film and was made for Allied Artists. This movie was at one time tentatively titled 'Rodeo' and then 'Isle of Paradise'. Eventually, 'Tickle Me' was chosen.
Elvis stars as Lonnie Beale, a singing rodeo cowboy who moonlights as a handyman at a beauty spa. Though several women try to catch the attention of Lonnie, including spa owner Vera Radford, played by Julie Adams, the rodeo rider falls for Pam Merritt. Pam, portrayed by Jocelyn Lane, is visiting the spa to investigate a nearby ghost town where her grandfather has supposedly hidden a cache of gold.
Pam enlists the help of Lonnie and his sidekick Stanley, played by Jack
Mullaney, to recover the treasure. Unscrupulous locals, also looking for
the gold, try to frighten the hapless trio into leaving the territory, but the three eventually prevail. Lonnie and Pam marry at the end, marking one of the few times that one of Elvis's characters actually weds on-screen.

Julie Adams and Jocelyn Lane co-star. The screenplay was written by Elwood Ullman and Edward Bernds, who had written The Three Stooges film shorts and theatrical films as well as scripts for The Bowery Boys.
The film was first released in the VHS format in the early 1980s in a limited version from Allied Artists Home Video. It was issued again by CBS/Fox video in 1985, 1987 and 1992, and by Warner Home Video in 1997. In 2007, Tickle Me was released for the first time on DVD, in the wide-screen letterbox format.

The soundtrack had no "new" material, as album cuts were selected, then overdubbed. In two cases, different takes were used ("Long, Lonely Highway", and "I Feel That I've Known You Forever", the latter featuring what appears to be a vocal done on the soundstage).
Julie Adams and Jocelyn Lane co-star. The screenplay was written by Elwood Ullman and Edward Bernds, who had written The Three Stooges film shorts and theatrical films as well as scripts for The Bowery Boys.
The film was first released in the VHS format in the early 1980s in a limited version from Allied Artists Home Video. It was issued again by CBS/Fox video in 1985, 1987 and 1992, and by Warner Home Video in 1997. In 2007, Tickle Me was released for the first time on DVD, in the wide-screen letterbox format.

Clue #1: A silly surprise can be found… something with a musical sound. Just lift Elmo’s arm straight in the air. Then find his belly and tickle him there. (lift arm up and press belly sensor)
Results: Elmo will sing a special song
Clue #2: Whats bothering Elmo, you will know. When he does an exercise involving toes. The plan will go without a hitch. If when he’s not looking you pull a switch. Then tickle his extremity and Elmo’s problem you will see. (lift arm up - sit him down - place hand on foot - turn off then on - then press foot tickle sensor)
Results: Elmo gets the hiccups
Clue #3: For silly Elmo sound effects… follow all these simple steps. How big is Elmo have him show you. Then if he tries to go to sleep, don’t let it throw you. Just one more secret tickle place and you’ll hear the silly sounds that Elmo makes. (lift arm up - lay Elmo face down - press tickle sensor on foot)
Results: Elmo passes gas, makes sounds and rolls around
Clue #4: Elmo’s trying without success to get out of a silly mess. He’s doing a work out on the floor. Is he “off”? Is he “on”? It’s certainly never a bore. Leg-lifts always make him grin, so do tickles on his chin. But, when his work-out at last is through, you’ll see what Elmo finds so hard to do. (lay Elmo on his back - turn him off - turn him on - lift up left leg and put left leg down - lift up right leg and put right leg down - stand him up - press sensor under chin)
Results: Elmo struggles to get up
Clue #5: Elmo’s got a serious question. So place him in a standing position. Raise his arm up… up up it goes. Then bend him over to his toes. Now tickle his foot (that’s your final task). And then its time for Elmo to ask… (left arm up - bend Elmo over at the waist - press tickle sensor on foot)
Results: Elmo asks "Hey Where Did Everybody Go?"
Clue #6: We think you've got a secret… one that Elmo knows. To find out what it is… turn him off, sit him up, and rest his hand on his toes. Get on with it… lie him back. Do a sit-up and relax. Arm on the floor. Stand up once more. And tickle his belly too. And… that’s the way you’ll find out. (set him down on his back - and turn him off - bend him up at the waist and make sure his hand is on his foot - turn him on - bend him back - sit up and lay him back - push his arm down to the ground to his side - stand him up - press tickle sensor on his belly )

Roguelike, Rogue-lite, roguelike-like, rogueschmike! No matter what you call them, the world could always use another! As such, we'd like to present for your consideration, the illegitimate child of the roguelike and the metroidvania, the RogueVANIA. Anywho, enough with the sales pitch, let’s take a closer look.
By metroidVania, we’re really talking about a fixed, hand designed, interconnected world. The game takes place on an immense island that never changes. All of the biomes, bosses and the paths between them are present right from the start. Getting to them is another story...
However, in Dead Cells, death replaces the traditional backtracking mechanic of a metroidvania. At first, seemingly unreachable areas will be strewn across your path, but answers to these riddles will appear as you explore the island. Be it a key, a new acrobatic skill or a forgotten spell. Once uncovered, this knowledge will stay with you, allowing you to unlock new paths to your goal. Sick of the stinking sewers? Head over the ramparts and take a breath of fresh air! It’s your skill, playstyle and of course the loot you find that will determine your path.
Furthermore, as the term "RogueVania" might (not so) subtly imply, we were also quite heavily influenced by the recent wave of roguelites. When there are no checkpoints to save you from your screw-ups, the adrenaline kicks in. And when you lose, you lose big, so you’ve got to make it out alive. Instead of relying on the classic formula of memorising the level design and enemy placement, procedural generation allows us to reward your instincts, reflexes and ability to adapt to evolving situations.
Having said this, we’re conscious that the words “procedural generation” conjure up images of crappy levels and uninteresting gameplay in a lot of gamers’ minds. So we’ve chosen a hybrid solution, with each run being a mashup of carefully designed “chunks” of level. The idea is to give you the feeling of meticulously handcrafted world, while making sure you have a new experience every time.
Don’t expect it to be a walk in the park though. Pattern based monsters and demanding boss fights will teach you to choose your battles and build your strength. Every weapon has its own unique feel and rolling and dodging will become second nature, as you learn to manage the mobs of monsters that will overwhelm the unprepared. We’re going after that “tough, but fair” feeling.

Thomas and Gwen, our graphic artists, never miss an opportunity to impress with their pixelart and shape a world worth exploring. Furthermore, as the term "RogueVania" might (not so) subtly imply, we were also quite heavily influenced by the recent wave of roguelites. When there are no checkpoints to save you from your screw-ups, the adrenaline kicks in. And when you lose, you lose big, so you’ve got to make it out alive. Instead of relying on the classic formula of memorising the level design and enemy placement, procedural generation allows us to reward your instincts, reflexes and ability to adapt to evolving situations.
Having said this, we’re conscious that the words “procedural generation” conjure up images of crappy levels and uninteresting gameplay in a lot of gamers’ minds. So we’ve chosen a hybrid solution, with each run being a mashup of carefully designed “chunks” of level. The idea is to give you the feeling of meticulously handcrafted world, while making sure you have a new experience every time.
Don’t expect it to be a walk in the park though. Pattern based monsters and demanding boss fights will teach you to choose your battles and build your strength. Every weapon has its own unique feel and rolling and dodging will become second nature, as you learn to manage the mobs of monsters that will overwhelm the unprepared. We’re going after that “tough, but fair” feeling.

Thomas and Gwen, our graphic artists, never miss an opportunity to impress with their pixelart and shape a world worth exploring.
