I AM a student.
I AM WEARING tracksuit pants and a coat I just bought off my best friend. I don't know why she sold it to me but it's so beautiful. My housemate gave me these socks and I got my earmuffs from some discount store. Everything else I got from the op shop except my coat, which my friend got at the Camberwell Market. These are my comfy house clothes. This morning I was going out of the house so I just put on this coat that I've been wearing all the time. I couldn't find my usual slippers so I put on these sandals. I don't really think about it. I just put on whatever is comfy and makes me feel good.
MY STYLE IS '90s Rave Alien.
I ADMIRE THE STYLE OF the singer Grimes. She takes lots of pop culture references and just mashes them together in this really cool way that's totally her own thing. There's not necessarily one aesthetic she's following. She loves K-pop and Japanese culture – anime and Hello Kitty. But then she also loves Dolly Parton and cowboy hats. She's a huge inspiration.
MY FAVOURITE PLACES TO SHOP Op shops. I don't buy much new. I just go everywhere. I sell clothes at the vintage shop Vintage Garage. I go to the Evelyn Market and sometimes the Fitzroy Market.
MY BIGGEST FASHION MISTAKE WAS being really tanned. I used to go and get the darkest spray tans possible.
WHEN I WAS A KID I WORE whatever my mum dressed me in. I had one favourite outfit I asked my mum if I could wear every day. It was a two-piece grey marle T-shirt and shorts with floral shapes all over it. I was pretty girly.
I WOULD NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD IN …I don't like to rule anything out. But maybe thongs.
