The American Psychological Association (APA) is the largest American professional organization of psychologists. For more information see their website.

There are up to 10 one-year accounts available to Wikipedians through this partnership, providing access to PsycARTICLES and PsycBOOKS.

Requirements

• You have your preferences enabled to receive email messages on English Wikipedia or on your home wiki linked from your application; (see Special:Preferences)
• You have an account that is a minimum of 6 months old
• You have a minimum of 500 edits to the encyclopedia
• You do not already have access to this resource through another library or institution

Expectations

Approved editors may

• Search, view, retrieve, and display portions of restricted content;
• Electronically save portions of restricted content;
• Print out single copies of portions of restricted content;

Approved editors will not

• Share their account logins or passwords with others, or sell their access to other parties
• Mass scrape or mass download American Psychological Association content
• Systematically make printed or electronic copies of multiple extracts of restricted content available for any purpose.
• Datamine metadata without permission, in order, for instance, to use metadata for auto-created stub articles.
• Violate any terms and conditions which appear on the particular pages of the American Psychological Association website they are accessing.

I already use Wikipedia Library resources like Jstor and Newspapers.com a lot to add in-line references, and I believe the APA account would let me do this too, especially in LGBTQ-related articles (a quick search on their website shows they have many articles about homosexuality--all very useful to enhance my work at WikiProject LGBT Studies).Zigzig20s (talk) 19:14, 30 August 2016 (UTC)

I believe that knowledge is subjective, and knowledge should be defined as the combination of everyone's opinion. Therefore, to me, Wikipedia is the epicenter of knowledge. That said, gaining access to research and reviewing research methods and their conclusions is the other important side of gaining new knowledge. I'm a social worker and my undergraduate degree was in psychology. I consider access to research articles to be important but expensive. Thanks for this opportunity. If you are able to access PsycInfo in the future I recommend it as another good source. Thanks again. ~Russ
