Ira Block is an internationally renowned documentary photographer, teacher and lecturer who has produced over 30 stories for the National Geographic Magazine. He has led National Geographic Photo Workshops, expeditions and private workshops to Mongolia, Bhutan, Cuba and Tibet where students learn about the culture and photographic vision.

Join Rubén Saldago Escudar for a three-hour photo walk that focuses on portraits and lighting.
This hands-on photo walk is for photographers of all levels, who are looking for tips and tricks on how to work with natural light and master portrait photography. Sony cameras and lenses will be provided to tryout during the walk.. Rubén Salgado Escudero is a freelance photographer born in Madrid, Spain. After graduating from the Savannah College of Art and Design, he subsequently moved to Berlin, Germany, where he worked as a 3D character animator in the video-game and film industry for ten years. In 2013 he decided to quit his job and move to Myanmar, following his passion for photography where he focuses on conceptual-artistic documentary projects. Since then, Rubén's works have been exhibited and sold in dozens of countries across the world. His projects have been published in National Geographic Magazine, TIME, GEO, and The New York Times and has won various international awards including the Sony World Photography Award.

Join the Sony Artisan of Imagery for a three-hour photo walk that focuses on urban landscape photography Long:
This hands-on photo walk is for photographers of all levels, who are looking for tips and tricks on how to master urban landscape photography. Sony cameras and lenses will be provided to tryout during the walk. Katrin Eismann is an artist, author and educator known for inspiring her students with contagious enthusiasm for photography and exploring the world from many points of view. This photowalk will explore the area around Madison Square Park and the Flatiron building and we'll wrap the photowalk learning how to wirelessly transfer high-quality images from the Sony cameras to our smartphones for social media sharing. Katrin is the Chair of the Masters in Digital Photography at the School of Visual Arts and has spoken about photography all around the world. Please remember to bring a memory card and a smartphone with Sony Play Memories installed.

Past Event: New York Street Photography Walk With Nino Rakichevich
The Sony Artisan of Imagery will be leading a three-hour, hands-on photo walk through the streets of Manhattan.
The focus for the three hours will be street photography: learning how to approach and photograph people on the street as well as understanding your legal rights when photographing subjects. You will also learn how to control, and get the most out of, available light using Sony cameras and lenses that will be provided for this walk. This session, which will be led by advertising and fine-art photographer Nino Rakichevich, is suitable for all levels of photographers who want to get inspired and at the same time sharpen their skills using the latest Sony gear (please remember to bring your own memory card). Nino is based in Malibu, California, and has won over 40 national and international photography awards. He is a proud member of the elite artist organization ULUPUDS in his native country of Serbian, and is also author of the book "People of Paris,” in which he used Sony mirrorless cameras exclusively.

Join the Sony Artisan of Imagery for a three-hour photo walk that focuses on portraiture and travel photography.
Jeff Berlin, a widely published fashion and portrait photographer, will lead an interactive and immersive photo walk around the streets of Manhattan. Perfect for all levels of shooters, Jeff will discuss and demonstrate his techniques for portraiture and travel photography, as well as how to shoot in a more considered, deliberate fashion. Jeff was recently profiled in “Cowboys & Indians” magazine for his rodeo portraits, which began as an editorial assignment and grew into a personal passion project. The techniques he used when shooting at the rodeo translate very well to shooting environmental portraits in the city. So be prepared for three hours of fun, inspiration, and tips sure to make anyone a better photographer. You will also have the opportunity to try a new Sony digital camera (if you’d like to keep the photos you took from the walk, make sure to bring your own SD memory card).

Brian Smith, a Pulitzer Prize-winning portrait photographer and Sony Artisan of Imagery, will lead this hands-on photo walk through the streets of Manhattan. The three-hour session, which will focus on street photography and portraiture, is perfect for all levels—from beginning photographers, who want to learn how to take better pictures, to seasoned pros looking to fine-tune their eye. Participants will get the chance to try out Sony Alpha camera and lenses during the walk, while learning tips and tricks from a professional. Please remember to bring your own SD memory card.

Past Event: Introduction to Family Photography With “The Photo Mom” Me Ra Koh
The Sony Artisan of Imagery and Disney Junior hosted a fun seminar and shoot-along that focused on photographing family members.
Me Ra Koh is nationally recognized as “The Photo Mom,” and the host of the Disney Junior TV show Capture Your Story. She is a sought-after keynote speaker known for her creative insight, as well as her authenticity, unique charisma, and dedication to empowering women. In this seminar, she will teach the fundamentals of capturing great family photography, with information on getting your subject to relax for the camera, storytelling, her favorite photography gear, and recommended camera settings for portraiture. After you're fully inspired by all of her stories and teaching, follow Me Ra into Madison Square Park and shoot alongside her. There will also be opportunity to shoot with some of her favorite camera equipment, as you get hands-on instruction. All ages and skill levels welcome.

Tony Gale is an award-winning portrait photographer, who shoots for a variety of editorial, corporate, and advertising clients, creating compelling images to tell his clients stories. Tony has taught at Parsons, School of Visual Arts, and Fashion Institute of Technology, and has led workshops and spoken about photography across the country.
