We’re on a mission to make working life simpler, more pleasant and more productive — for everyone.

People the world over spend a lot of time and energy on work. It can be a source of identity and inspiration, but it can also be a source of anxiety and frustration — so it’s important people know their contribution matters. Helping improve people’s experience of working life is one of the things we, as Slack, have set out to do.

That starts with our own team.

Empathy. Courtesy. Playfulness. Craftsmanship. Solidarity — these are some of values we live by, as a company. We work by them, too: we’re building a platform and products we believe in — knowing there is real value to be gained from helping people, wherever they are, simplify whatever it is that they do and bring more of themselves to their work.

We’re building a strong, diverse team of curious, creative people who want to find a purpose in their work and support each other in the process. We work hard and we play to win… within normal business hours. And then we go home.

That balance is important: It enables us to truly do the best work of our lives. As a result, we create a place where all kinds of work happens — and happens well — all while working alongside people we respect and admire.

And as a bonus, we end up creating a product, and a company, that’s really pretty good. So that’s nice.

Meet Leah

Senior User Researcher

Leah was an advice columnist for IGN from 1998-2001, and then again at The Verge. She was also a sound engineer intern at the studio where REM was recording Up, but didn't get to do any intern-ing other than order food, clean, and go to a party they threw for Radiohead.

Meet Haley

Senior Android Engineer

Haley played in an indie rock band for a couple years in college and vehemently refuses to tell anyone the name of it. Now she sings early 2000s emo at karaoke every Wednesday night.

Meet Dio

Product Designer

Dio has been on one Salsa dance team or another going on 7 years now. He also made a metal YoYo from scratch once and pole vaulted in High School.

Meet Judy

Senior Manager, Product Marketing

Judy was a champion debater in high school and went undefeated one year. While she hasn't officially been on a speech and debate team since then, she is convinced her mom would still vote for her as most argumentative in the family.

Meet Deepti

Director, Policy

While in high school, Deepti came in 2nd place in the Mars Rover naming contest. Her prize? Deepti's name is etched on the Mars Rover itself, so Deepti has the unique distinction of having her name appear on Planet Mars.

Meet Deano

Director, Global Facilities

Following graduation from West Point, Deano began his military service as an Army Aviation officer flying the AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopter. While deployed abroad, Deano founded the first global online lottery, Mightyball.com, with two other fellow pilots.

We want people to thrive at Slack; we believe you do your best work when you feel your best. Here are a just a few benefits we’re proud to provide our team.*

Health & Wellness

Full health coverage for you and your family (Slack pays 100% of your premiums), and a $150 monthly fitness and wellness reimbursement.

Learning & Development

Receive $500 annually (or equivalent) towards a personal development opportunity of your choice, and $2000 annually (or equivalent) for professional development.

Parental Leave

A lot of us have families, of all shapes and sizes and types, and we welcome each new addition with generous parental and new child bonding leave.

Happier Weekdays

A meeting-light culture (or we try, at least), weekly massage therapy, guest speakers, and opportunities to get to know your team better through things like weekly catered lunch and breakfast, Thursday Socials, and game nights. But we don’t stay in the office 24/7.

* These are the benefits for US-based employees. We have equivalent benefits at all our offices, wherever they are. We’ll update this soon.
