Moreland Area

North of central Melbourne is the Moreland Area, which is a city that encompasses over a dozen suburbs. This region is home to a population of approximately 150,000 residents and is continually growing.

When compared to Melbourne, Moreland is a more diverse area. Large portions of its residents are from other countries, and roughly 40% of them do not speak English at home. Many of the inhabitants of Moreland originate from Italy, India, the United Kingdom, China, and many other counties. The suburbs of Moreland offer an incredible range in regards to culture and residential and commercial areas.

The Moreland Area is well connected to the Greater Melbourne Area, and nearly a third of the residents rely on public transportation to commute. Numerous railway stations and bus routes make this easy. This region is one of the best served in regards to public transit.
