Conference Sponsors

The Australian Press Council gratefully acknowledges the support from conference sponsors and event partners:

Joining our Sponsors

The Council sought conference sponsorship from a range of corporate and institutional partners, especially to enable participation of international guests.

Varying levels of sponsorship support were available. Support ranged from straightforward donations, in cash or in kind, up to Principal Sponsor status.

The Press Council also wishes to enter into longer- term partnership arrangements with selected corporations and institutions, under which the international conference would be the first in a series of events, media research projects and other important educational, professional and commercial initiatives for which collaboration and support is welcome.

Depending on the level of support, our partners enjoyed a variety of benefits including:

Why Sponsor?

Sponsorship of the Press Council’s 40th Anniversary Conference was a unique opportunity to support the work of a body dedicated to promoting press freedom and high standards of practice.

It was also a valuable opportunity for brand exposure with some of the most important and influential media companies, journalists, editors and communication researchers in the country, some 150 of whom will attend the conference and related events in May 2016.

The Press Council’s membership includes most major newspaper, magazine and online-only publishers in Australia. These members account for more than 850 mastheads and approximately 95 percent of Australian print media circulation
