25 & 26 August 2016

Now open for Registrations!

YSAS, with the Centre for Youth AOD Practice Development and YoDAA are excited to invite you to the annual Australian Youth AOD Conference.

Practitioners supporting young people create opportunities for positive development, and understand the influence of structural conditions on the lives of their clients.

The Conference will explore these structural influences (day 1), and then provide the participants with the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge for their work with young people (day 2).

Check out the program!

Half-price tickets!

The Conference has been subsidised by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS Victoria), and the Centre for Youth AOD Practice Development, so ticket prices are half of last year’s. There are also special student prices.

Register now!

For further information do not hesitate to contact Karina Belloti or Jo Driscoll on 03 9415 8881.

Discussion Event: ‘Do What You Love’

“’The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle.”

These famous words from Steve Jobs have profoundly influenced modern attitudes towards work. It is the subject our next Young Workers Centre event: a discussion on the ‘Do What You Love’ Lie.

Dr Miya Tokumnitsu, author of Do What You Love (and Other Lies About Success and Happiness), reckons we’ve got it all wrong.

Join Miya, the team from the Young Workers Centre and the John Cain Foundation as we have a drink and get to the bottom of how we combine work and love – or if we even should!

This is a joint event by the Young Workers Centre and the John Cain Foundation, with sponsorship from Slater + Gordon.

Early Intervention for Borderline Personality Disorder

2016 Melbourne

This two-day workshop will explore the latest evidence about Early Intervention for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) in young people.  We now know that structured clinical care and simpler treatments have been demonstrated to be almost as effective as specialized treatments for BPD and this workshop will explore some of the principles underpinning successful models.

The workshop will specifically review the HYPE program, an evidence-based early intervention service for BPD that was developed in 2000 in Australia. It is a time-limited, integrated, team-based approach that is based on Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT).
