Вильям Донахью, президент Католической Лиги религиозных и гражданских прав, заявил, что "даже поклонники певицы видят в песне святотатство" и "песня совершенно намеренно подводит католиков к искушению". Критики издания Allmusic называют песню a "простым и прямым высказыванием веры, неприкрашенным и честным".

Joan Osborne
Joan Elizabeth Osborne (born July 8, 1962) is an American singer-songwriter and interpreter of music, having recorded and performed in various popular American musical genres including pop, soul, R&B, blues and country. She is best known for her recording of the Eric Bazilian song "One of Us". She has toured with Motown sidemen the Funk Brothers and was featured in the documentary film about them, Standing in the Shadows of Motown.
Biography
Originally from Anchorage, Kentucky, a suburb of Louisville, Osborne moved to New York City in the late 1980s, where she formed her own record label, Womanly Hips, to release a few independent recordings. She signed with Mercury Records, and released her first full-length album, Soul Show: Live at Delta 88, in 1991. Her second (and first major label) album was Relish (1995), which became a hit on the strength of the single "One of Us." "Right Hand Man" and "St. Teresa" were minor hits, and "Spider Web" also received radio play. Osborne is bisexual. Her song "After Jane," on the album Pretty Little Stranger, touches on this as it is about a relationship between herself and a woman.

John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer, songwriter and television personality. He rose to prominence in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath, widely considered to be the first heavy metal band. Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums, the first seven of which were all awarded multi-platinum certifications in the U.S. He has reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions, recording the album 13 in 2013. Osbourne's longevity and success have earned him the informal title of "Godfather of Heavy Metal".
Osbourne's total album sales from his years in Black Sabbath, combined with his solo work, is over 100 million. As a member of Black Sabbath, he was inducted into the U.S. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame as a solo artist and as a member of the band. Osbourne has a star on the Birmingham Walk of Stars in his hometown as well as the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards he received the Global Icon Award. In the early 2000s, he became a TV star, appearing as himself in the MTV reality program The Osbournes, alongside wife/manager Sharon and two of their three children, Kelly and Jack.

Ed Miliband made a pitch for the “squeezed middle” and George Osborne donned a hard hit and a hi-vis jacket to praise and rub shoulders with those who uncomplainingly “got on with it” ... The reason is that Jamland is a country that invests too little, where productivity is poor and where Osborne’s promised rebalancing of the economy towards manufacturing and exports simply has not happened....

With Britain's economy facing a slowdown next year and in 2018 after the Brexit vote, Hammond has dropped the target of his predecessor George Osborne of turning Britain's budget deficit into a surplus by 2020 ... It also said Hammond's approach on the budget would be different to that of his predecessor Osborne by limiting announcements to top-level spending decisions "rather than announcing full details of individual projects"....
