Plenty of cafes have a #cleaneating focus. But Greenfields Albert Park goes a step further, offering puppy picnics with a wellness focus.

Melbourne DJ and restaurateur Simon Digby and his team have created Greenfields in the space nestled between Albert Park Golf Course and the lake.

Billed as an integrated health and wellness venue, it's mainly a cafe and event space for up to 500 people. Designed by Alex Zabotto-Bentley from AZB Creative, the space channels  a Byron Bay meets Hamptons vibe, and lush, wicker lounge chairs make the sunny deck a prime position.

With a menu designed by Nick Korceba (ex Maha and St Ali), two-legged diners are encouraged to eat colourfully with dishes like sour green apple and cardamom pudding for breakfast and a green superbowl dressed with chlorophyll and argan oil for lunch.

Their four-legged friends will be thrilled with the menu's clean-eating puppy picnic section – think puppuccinos, bone broth and kangaroo pretzels.

Picnic baskets are also available, either with cheese paired with Veuve Clicquot and local wine or with healthy goodies from Greene St Juice and Pana Chocolate. Bring the kids and pooch on Sundays for live acoustic music from noon, a DJ from 4pm and a barbecue. Once a month there's even a yoga and meditation day.
