Brother charged with murdering golf club chef in home

A man has been charged with murdering his brother, a Brisbane chef, in his own home.

Patrick Willemyns, 53, was found dead in his Karana Downs home in the city's west about 1pm.

It's understood he had been shot in the head.

Overnight, police charged a 56-year-old South Brisbane man with his murder.

Mr Willemyns was a chef at the Karana Downs Golf Club, which posted a tribute on Monday night, describing him as a "great friend".

"We will miss you mate, R.I.P from the team at Karana Downs Golf Club," the Facebook post read.

Club members and customers joined in the mourning, with one saying it was "such a sad day".

The 56-year-old was scheduled to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
