Studio Fifty50 (CQ) artists Amanda Bruot CQ and Jeff Hudak are using steel plates painted in Chinese red over LED’s for seats and steps in the park. Many of the LED-lit patterns are from the Chinese zodiac including Year of the Rooster. ArtSite’s (CQ) Denise Bisio and Roger Waterhouse are doing installation and the expanded part is expected to open later this year. The expansion occupies the former post office site and Parks and Green Spaces levy allocated $3 million for planning, design and construction.
The park is at 423 Maynard Ave. South. Steps will have textured non-skid surfaces and seats will have wooden elements installed.
