How to report directly from a Tweet or profile

You can report directly from an individual Tweet or profile for certain violations, including: spam, abusive or harmful content, inappropriate ads, self-harm and impersonation. For information about reporting other types of violations, see below (How to report specific types of violations).

How to report profiles for violations:

Open the profile you’d like to report.
Select the more button (on web), tap the gear icon (on Twitter for iOS), or tap the overflow icon (on Twitter for Android).
Select Report and then select the type of issue you’d like to report.
If you select They’re being abusive or harmful, we’ll ask you to provide additional information about the issue you’re reporting. We may also ask you to select additional Tweets from the account you’re reporting so we have better context to evaluate your report.
Once you’ve submitted your report, we’ll provide recommendations for additional actions you can take to improve your Twitter experience.

How to report specific content in a Moment

How to report the Moment Cover for violations:

Open the Moment with the cover you’d like to report.
Click or tap the more icon and select Report Cover. Then select the type of issue you’d like to report to us.

How to report a Tweet in a Moment for violations:

Navigate to the Tweet within the Moment that you’d like to report.
Click or tap the more icon
Click or tap Report Tweet.
Choose the type of issue you’d like to report to us.
Once you’ve submitted your report, we’ll provide recommendations for actions you can take to improve your Twitter experience.

How to report multiple components of a Moment for violations:

Visit the Moments reporting form here.
Enter the Moment URL that you would like to report.
Select the type of issue you’d like to report to us.
Provide us with up to 5 Tweets within the Moment that may be in violation.
Once you’ve submitted your report, we’ll provide recommendations for actions you can take to improve your Twitter experience.

How to report specific types of violations

Note: When reporting potential violations of the Twitter Rules and Terms of Service via the Help Center, you may be asked to allow us to share parts of your report with third parties, such as the affected user.

How to report on behalf of someone else

You can report violations on behalf of another user. Refer to the categories and instructions listed above or visit our Help Center to submit your report. You can also report directly from a Tweet or profile (see above section How to report directly from a Tweet or profile).

How to find a Vine account ID

When reporting explicit content on Vine, you may be asked to provide a Vine account ID.

From the web:

From the user’s profile, copy the Vine account ID from the URL. It should look like this: https://vine.co/u/[VINEID] or https://vine.co/[VINEID].

From an iOS device:

From the user’s profile, tap on the overflow icon
Tap Share this profile.
Copy the Vine ID contained in the URL provided. It should look like this: vine://user/[VINEID].

From an Android device:

From the user’s profile, tap on the overflow icon or the Menu button.
Tap Share profile and provide a destination.
Copy the Vine ID contained in the URL provided. It should look like this: vine://user/[VINEID].

How to find a link to a Vine post

When reporting explicit content on Vine, you may be asked to provide the link to a Vine post.

From the web:

From the Vine post, click on the overflow icon
Click on View post page.
Copy the URL. It should look like this: https://vine.co/v/....

From an iOS device:

From the Vine post, tap the more icon
Tap Copy link. It should look like this: https://vine.co/v/....

From an Android device:

From the Vine post, tap the more icon
Tap Share to and provide a destination.
Copy the URL provided. It should look like this: https://vine.co/v/....

How to find a Periscope username

When reporting explicit content on Periscope, you may be asked to provide a Periscope username.

From the web:

When you find a Periscope broadcast that is shared via Tweet on twitter.com, click on the Periscope broadcast.
If the Periscope broadcast is live, find the Periscope user’s display name (located in the bottom left corner). Click it to display a profile view. Copy the Periscope username (it will start with the @ symbol).
If the Periscope broadcast is a replay, you will see the Periscope username right below the user’s display name. Copy it (it will start with the @ symbol).

From an iOS device:

From the Periscope broadcast, swipe right to view the broadcast info panel.
Copy the Periscope username (it will start with the @ symbol).

From an Android device:

From the Periscope broadcast, swipe up to view the broadcast info panel.
Copy the Periscope username (it will start with the @ symbol).

How to find a link to a Periscope broadcast

When reporting explicit content on Periscope, you may be asked to provide the link to a Periscope broadcast. Here’s how:

From the web:

When you find a Periscope broadcast that is shared via Tweet on twitter.com, click on the Periscope broadcast.
Copy the URL that is displayed in your browser’s address bar. It should look like this: https://www.periscope.tv/w/….
