Henry's walkout over Hayne

Titans coach Neil Henry walks out of a press conference after refusing to answer questions about Jarryd Hayne. Nine News

In the late night tweets on Sunday, the former Parramatta fullback and NFL star confirmed the fine but insisted he was given the all clear to fly south by one of the team's co-captains Ryan James and Kevin Proctor.

"Was meant to be cap sess. Captain said was ok 4me 2get treatment in syd! Coach found out and fined me. Media will milk it!!!!"

Hayne, who scored a try in the Titans' comprehensive defeat by Sydney Roosters in their NRL season opener, has been dogged by controversy since his shock signing after returning from a stint in the NFL.

Last September he was filmed partying with a Gold Coast biker gang and handing over a wad of cash to one of the members.

He recently upset club powerbrokers by publicly stating he wanted to play rugby in France when his two-year contract expires.
