Toward (Scottish Gaelic: Tollard) is a village near Dunoon at the southern tip of the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scotland.

Architecture

Nearby is Castle Toward, a former country house built close to the ruined Toward Castle. Now an outdoor education centre, its grounds are used as a location for the children's BBC TV series, Raven.

Toward Point has one of 18 lighthouses built by Robert Stevenson.

Don't Look Back (2009 film)

Don't Look Back (French: Ne te retourne pas) is a 2009 French thriller film directed by Marina de Van and starring Sophie Marceau and Monica Bellucci. Written by Jacques Akchoti and Marina de Van, the film is about a wife and mother of two children who suddenly notices changes to the way the family home is arranged and feels that her body is transforming without anyone around her noticing it. While others believe her perceptions are due to fatigue and stress, she is sure that something more profound is happening, and her search to understand these mysterious perceptions prompts her to track down a woman in Italy who holds the key to the mystery.

Plot

Jeanne, a married woman with two young children, starts to notice small changes taking place in the arrangement of objects in her family's home—furniture, pictures, rooms—as well as in her physical appearance. She seems to be the only one noticing these changes, but still she is absolutely certain that her perceptions are a result of something profound, and are not caused by stress or fatigue, as everyone else seems to think. Feeling increasingly out of sorts, ever more distant, and even psychologically cut off from her husband and children, who are baffled by her behavior, Jeanne goes to her mother in the hope that she, at least, will provide for her some clarification or otherwise soothing solution.

Carrie Newcomer

Carrie Newcomer is an American singer, songwriter and author. She has produced 15 solo CDs and has received numerous awards for her music and related charitable activities. She has done numerous collaborations with authors, academics, philosophers and musicians. In 2009 and 2011 she traveled to India as a cultural ambassador, including musical performances organized by the US State Department. In 2012 she made a similar trip to Kenya on behalf of the Interfaith Hunger Initiative. Her range of causes, activities, collaborations and philosophies significantly influences her music.

Her first solo album was Visions and Dreams.Vision and Dreams was originally released on Windchime records and then later re-released with two additional tracks by Rounder records. Between 1993-2010, she released twelve additional albums on Philo/Rounder. Her range of causes, activities, collaborations and philosophies significantly influences her music.

Her album Betty's Diner: The Best of Carrie Newcomer was released in 2004. It contained three new songs, plus, "what's held up for me what songs have become old friends, and what songs are requested often". The title track started out as a short story which Newcomer wrote while on the road, she then decided to incorporate the story into a song.

Joe Bonamassa

Joe Bonamassa (born May 8, 1977) is an American blues rock musician, singer and songwriter.

Bonamassa opened for B.B. King when he was only 12 years old. In the last 13 years Bonamassa has put out 15 solo albums through his independent record label, J&R Adventures, of which eleven have reached #1 on the Billboard Blues charts.

He has played alongside such artists as Stephen Stills, Eric Clapton, Blondie Chaplin, Foreigner, Buddy Guy, Steve Winwood, Warren Haynes, and Derek Trucks among others. His career highlights include performances at the Royal Albert Hall and a Grammy Award nomination in 2013. In addition to his music career, Joe Bonamassa runs a nonprofit organization called the "Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation" whose mission it is to further music education by funding scholarships and providing music education resources to schools in need.

Solo career

Joe Bonamassa was born in New Hartford, New York. He started playing guitar at age four. His father was an avid music fan and exposed Bonamassa to records by Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. Joe was very inspired by these British blues rock records. When he was 12 years old, he had his own band called Smokin' Joe Bonamassa. The band gigged around western New York and Pennsylvania, cities such as Scranton and Buffalo, on weekends since Joe had school on weekdays. Bonamassa played a crimson 1972 Fender Stratocaster he called "Rosie", which his father had bought in Utica, New York.
