Pranksters change Barnett's Google listing to 'garbage dump service'

Politics can be a dirty business sometimes but it appears some smart alec has taken that notion a bit more literally in the lead up to WA's tight state election.

The Google listing for Premier Colin Barnett's electorate office in Cottesloe appears to have been briefly changed to describe it as a 'garbage dump service.'

Fairfax poll results explained

A poll of around 1700 residents shows the WA state election is set to be a tight contest.

There are no such services in the immediate area, though a quick Google search reveals rubbish businesses further afield.

Mr Barnett's Google listing has now been restored to read 'Government office.'

So is someone playing dirty tricks?

A number of polls in the lead up to the election have revealed that Mr Barnett could be on the nose for WA voters, with the premier's time in office and handling of projects like Roe 8 pushing his numbers down.

But exclusive polling for WAtoday conducted by ReachTel has shown that Labor may fall agonisingly short of victory, with a resurgent Liberal vote and sliding support for One Nation perhaps proving decisive.

However, the same polling revealed that Mr Barnett's signature policy he's taking to the polls - the part sale of Western Power - is opposed by close to 60 per cent of those surveyed.
