Evening relaxation on the Grand Canal in Venice. A trip to Italy was high on the bucket list of my wife and I. After 25 years of marriage we decided it was time to have our romantic evening in Venice, taking in the wonderful food, wine and ambiance. It was a night dreams are made of. Photo: Mark Powell -
As one of the busiest intersections in the world, Shibuya crossing in Tokyo is a crazy place at the best of times. In the rain, a sea of umbrellas floating across the road adds a surreal flavour. Photo: Shane Blue -
Amazing blue colours await at Lake Tekapo in New Zealand as a result of all of the mineral deposits. Add to this an early morning sunrise, a rainbow in the distance, and a horse posing in the perfect position, and I have ended up with a very memorable picture :-) Photo: Chris Cousins -
This is shot is taken at Canyonlands National Park in Utah, USA. A storm brought in hanging cloud and eeire light at sunset. We had travelled to Utah for landscape photography. Utah contains some wonderful National Parks including Arches National Park, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National park as well as Canyonlands National Park. Its also not far to Monument Valley. Shot with a Nikon d610 and Nikon 24-70 f2.8. Photo: Anthony Ashfield-Smith -
I took this shot whilst climbing the famous summit of Reinbringing In Norway's Lofoten Islands and this photo for me captures in all its essence the feeling of being alive and the power of travel. Standing upon the summit after a short but steep climb I was completely left speechless of the scenery that surrounded me and it reminded me how important it is to travel and experience new adventures in new and rewarding environments. This moment not only captured a highlight of my Scandanavian and Europe adventure but it also en-captures a memory that I will cherish forever signifying the great benefits of travel. I took this photo on a automated self timer to give perspective too the incredible scenery that the Norwegian landscape portrays. Photo: Chester Clarke -

Earlier this year my family and I went on a trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After a long day I decided to look out the window for the amazing views one last time before I went to bed. To my surprise the sky lit up from a series of lightning strikes. I stayed up for a couple of hours shooting them and this is one of my favourites. Photo: Jason Lim -
The raw energy of tribes practising dance and war cries in traditional costume and makeup is almost palpable as they prepare for the annual Mt Hagen sing sing in the remote highlands of Papua New Guinea. A sing sing expresses customary dance, music and traditional costume. Regular sing sings are held throughout the country. Photo: Anthony Lawrence -

This image was taken while I was holiday in Honolulu in August 2016. We were staying at the Hilton Waikiki Village Resort on the 27th floor. This was the view from our balcony looking down over the man made lagoon that guests could canoe, paddle and swim in. I used only my Canon 5D Mark II with 50mm f/1.8 attached to take the image by extending my arm carefully over the balcony. I love the composition and how the two blue canoes and red paddle boat entered the frame and the same time in their respective positions. Overall I love the colours and composition of the image and how it could be mistaken for an image taken by a drone. A case of right place right time! Photo: Louise Firli -
The final ascent on Mt Kosciusko in October 2016. The unexpected snow cover was a fabulous close to a touring holiday we had taken. On this day there was very few people in the area and no one on the mountain at the same time as us, to be the only people on top of Australia was a very special and thought provoking feeling. This photo was taken at Miyajima Island in the afternoon on a humid day. The light through the clouds and the shadows of the gate on the sand added to the spiritual atmosphere. The monumental scale of the gate was evident from the people walking beneath it. I never ventured onto the sand and was content to see the gate from the path where I stood. I hope to return there one day. Photo: Raoul Chapman -
