A landmark exhibition that brings together for the first time more than 50 major paintings, related works on paper and an  array of archival material, Charles Blackman's compelling Schoolgirls series continues at Heide Museum of Modern Art in Bulleen until May 21. Drawing his inspiration from a range of sources and produced between 1952 and 1955, the works marked a turning point in the artist's career, establishing him as a significant painter of modern life in the post-war era.
