It’s black & white We’re not just talking about the looks of this Rolex Cosmograph Daytona but it’s desirability. Among watch enthusiasts (and beyond) this is possibly the most recognisably desirable timepiece you can have on your wrist - a watch that suggests impeccable craftsmanship and style, yet can be worn every day. Of course, at $15,700, it also suggests you can afford such a statement. As for the justification: the case is steel; the crowning touch, the bezel, is in black Cerachrom, a material patented by Rolex that gives the watch the looks of the original 1965 model; and the self-winding movement comes with Superlative Chronometer certification. Unexpected lines So fast is fashion moving that the collection Burberry  showed last week in London was available in boutiques worldwide immediately after. Inspired by the sculptor Henry Moore, the collection nodded to its heritage but remained entirely modern. This look, with its touch of Victoriana and off-kilter knitwear is one entirely apt example. Asymmetric jersey sweatshirt dress, $2050; cotton shirt dress, $1650; knitted boots with sculpted heel, $1695. (02) 8296 8588
