Sundance Head stands alone on ‘The Voice’

Sundance Head, you’re all we’ve got.

The burly singer from Porter is the only remaining singer from the Houston area on “The Voice.” (Porter is north of Kingwood.)

Head’s twangy, touching take on Miley Cyrus hit “The Climb” won the knockout round against Josh Gallagher. Head is now in the top 20 and moves on to the live shows as part of Team Blake Shelton.

His version of “The Climb” is in the iTunes top 100 and, um, climbing.

Alicia Keys sent a pair of local acts packing.

Sibling duo Whitney & Shannon, raised in Houston, lost a spot on to Kylie Rothfield. And teen singer Courtnie Ramirez from Bryan was bested by an extraordinary Wé McDonald.

The top 20 featuring Head goes live next month for public votes.
