The King County Sheriff's Office says the family of Timothy Hovey will pay $10,000 to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of their son's killer.

Hovey, 27, was killed Sept. 4 in Burien after walking away from a party. He was a Sacramento, Calif. native who served at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, reports indicate.

Hovey went to the party in the area of South 128th Street and 22nd Avenue South with friends that night and decided to take a walk, according to the Sheriff's Office.

His friends reportedly found him lying in the road a couple blocks away with multiple gunshot wounds. He died later that night at Harborview Medical Center.

In addition to the family's reward money, Crime Stoppers is also offering $1,000 for information on the case. The King County Sheriff's Office asks tipsters to call the Sheriff's Office at 206-296-3311 or to leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
