Connecting information about people, society and the economy to a location
The Australian Bureau of Statistics is responding to the challenge of better integrating statistical and geospatial information by developing the Statistical Spatial Framework (SSF). This Framework will provide a common approach to connecting people-centric (socio-economic) information to a location, and improve the accessibility and usability of this spatially-enabled information.
The Statistical Spatial Framework will have applicability in any organisation wanting to understand people, society and the economy in the context of place.
'The SSF will provide a bridge between the statistical and spatial communities, allowing information to move more effectively and consistently between these two groups'. (Peter Harper, Deputy Australian Statistician, Australian Bureau of Statistics).
