The National Indigenous Reform Agreement Performance Information Management Group (NIRAPIMG) was established in July 2009 to play a lead role in decision-making on Indigenous data issues for the
National Indigenous Reform Agreement (Closing the Gap) and other relevant National Agreements as part of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Intergovernmental Agreement on Federal Financial Relations.

The NIRAPIMG is a sub-committee of the COAG Working Group on Indigenous Reform and reports to the Minister for Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.

The NIRAPIMG is chaired by a representative of the Minister's Department and membership includes representatives from:

  • Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs - Office of Indigenous Policy Coordination
  • Department of Health - Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health
  • Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations
  • Early Childhood Sector
  • National Health Information Standards and Statistics Committee and the National Advisory Group on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Information and Data
  • Housing and Homelessness Information Management Group
  • Treasury
  • Steering Committee for the Review of Government Service Provision
  • Chair of COAG working Group on Indigenous Reform Building the Evidence Base (BEB) sub-group
  • States and Territories
  • Australian Bureau of Statistics
  • Australian Institute of Health and Welfare
