It happens every time, and they never learn. 1. Trump says something horrifically offensive. 2. Trump's ally tries to clarify that Trump was actually saying something innocuous. 3. Trump clarifies that, no, he totally meant it when he said the horrifically offensive thing.

hilariously shitty that the predominant media response to creep comeback attempts is “let’s make this Kirsten Gillibrand’s problem”

At what point did you decide that identifying a candidate's donors by name and employer was unethical and dangerous doxing?

The New York Times published the full (searchable) list of Clinton Foundation donors as a compendium to an article about how the donations were potentially bribes.

Polls consistently show that Democratic Primary Voters perceive Biden to be the most electable candidate, but this masks the relatively small differences in perceived electability between Biden, Warren, and Sanders.

A different way to look at perceived electability, from today's YouGov poll. Percent of Democratic Primary Voters who think [candidate] would "probably" beat Trump: • Biden 65% • Warren: 55% • Sanders: 53% • Harris: 45% • Buttigieg: 37%

Next week marks 45 years since President Richard Nixon resigned. The latest Economist/YouGov Poll shows that half of Republicans (52%) approve of how he handled his job as president:

Unsurprising from McSally, who refused to condemn Roy Moore in 2017 because "[t]his place is crawling with dirty old men, creeps, and predators—it’s not my job to remove them all."

Favorability ratings do not explain why Obama won in 2012 and Clinton lost in 2016. The difference in net favorability between Clinton and Trump in the 2016 exit poll (10 points) was the same as the difference between Obama and Romney in 2012.

Trump's attempt to make the "Squad" the face of Democrats in Congress doesn't appear to be working: -- 59% of Trump voters say Pelosi represents the views of Democrats in Washington -- 35% of Trump voters say the "Squad" does

Lost in the whining about Franken not receiving "due process" is the fact that the Ethics Committee likely wouldn't have jurisdiction. In 2008, the Committee declined to investigate Vitter for pre-Senate misconduct that did not result in criminal charges.

Rand Paul voted for the GOP tax cut bill, which permanently cut taxes on corporations without any offsetting spending cuts. Now he opposes extending relief for 9/11 first responders and other victims without offsetting spending cuts. Shameful.

A focus group of 12 voters from Warren, Michigan. Clinton won Warren 52-43 in 2016, yet 9 of the 12 members of the focus group voted for Trump. Focus groups are dumb, and this one is worse than usual.
