Poetry by Mark Richardson: “Evening Trees”

Evening trees, arching to the setting sky
pulsing upward, palms raised high
leaves shimmering in metallic glare
one last shout, one trumpet blare
sounding out toward the light
then falling back into the mellow night.

Mark Richardson’s work has also appeared in the print version of The Independent Australian and he is currently working on a book which will be released later this year.
