Having lived across the country, Amanda brings a truly national perspective to the news team at iPolitics. She comes to the team after spending two years reporting for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's Calgary digital team. While there, she filed nationally for the website and radio programs on stories including the 2013 Alberta floods, Alison Redford's resignation and Jim Prentice's leadership campaign, the Nathan O'Brien disappearance and the oil price drop. She was among the digital team members honoured last year with an AMPIA and an RTDNA for their cross-platform coverage of the floods. She has also worked with TD Bank's global security and investigations team and has a strong interest in defence and national security issues. Amanda graduated from Carleton University's Bachelor of Journalism program in 2012 with high honours and has contributed to the Vancouver Observer, CBC The House and Avenue Magazine.
