The 1st Guards Cavalry Division was a Guards heavy cavalry division of the Imperial Russian Army.
Organization[edit]

- 1st Cavalry Brigade
- 2nd Cavalry Brigade
- 3rd Cavalry Brigade
- His Majesty's Own Cossack Life-Guards Regiment[3]
- Ataman Cossack Life-Guards Regiment of H. I. H. the Tsesarevich [4][5]
- Combined Cossack Life-Guards Regiment
- 1st Life-Guards Horse Artillery Division
All the regiments were made of 4 squadrons (sotnyas — hundreds — in Cossack regiments) with the colonels of the regiments usually having a rank of Major-General.[6]
