TRT World is the international news platform of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation.[1]

Based in Istanbul, TRT World began broadcasting on 27 October 2015 and is Turkey's first English-language international television and digital media news service. It has some 600 staff, from 34 different countries, and broadcasts high definition (HD) television signals via Turksat 3A satellite.

TRT World is focusing on news and documentaries and it started test broadcasts on 18 May 2015. On 27 October 2015 it was available to view via satellite, cable, IPTV distribution and live streaming on its website. TRT World started with an initial reach of 44 million television homes. TRT World's headquarters is in Istanbul, with studios in London, Washington, D.C.. Since its launch, TRT World’s live broadcasts have covered all the major stories in its region: The general Turkish elections, the G20 Antalya Summit, the Syrian civil war and its fifth anniversary, the Mediterranean refugee crisis, Mosul and Operation Euphrates Shield, terrorist attacks in Ankara, Istanbul and Atatürk International Airport and the failed military coup attempt on 15 July.
