Project Prepare

Project Prepare believes that all people should receive gentle, non-judgmental, and supportive medical care.

Project Prepare trains medical students to provide outstanding patient care in the area of sexual health. Professional Gynecological and Male Urological Teaching Associates (GTAs/MUTAs) teach students to perform comfortable and effective genital exams. Project Prepare’s diverse staff of educators give medical students the unique opportunity to receive individual feedback from an educator who also assumes the role of patient. The topics covered include an overview of the technical and psycho-social elements of performing the physical exam and hands-on experience with guidance and feedback from the Patient Educator.

In addition, Project Prepare teaches students to take thorough and relevant Sexual History Interviews, so that they may address patient concerns in the areas of: Fertility, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), and Sexual Function and Well-Being.

Our Core Values

Project Prepare educators provide gentle, non-judgmental, supportive education to each student, and thus model the gentle, non-judgmental, supportive care we hope they will provide each of their patients.

Why do we do this? To ensure that patients have pain-free sexual health exams.
