A brawl breaks out at a suburban footy grand final while spectators watch on.

VICTORIA Police say they are not investigating an all-in-brawl at a suburban Aussie rules football match despite reports a pregnant woman was assaulted.

The Herald Sun reports a female spectator in the late stages of her pregnancy was kicked by as many as 20 people after fighting broke out on the sidelines at Wootten Road Reserve in Tarneit on Saturday.

“It was crazy,’’ a witness told the newspaper.

“This lady was about eight months pregnant. If she miscarries these guys go back to wherever they live and they get away with it. I was just shocked. It was barbaric. I was petrified. I have never seen people so scared.”

The fight took place during the Western Region Football League’s Division 3 grand final between Newport Power and Parkside FC.

Footage provided to the Herald Sun shows dozens of rival fans trading punches and wrestling in the stands.

As many as 150 people are believed to have been involved but police say there were no serious injuries.

A spokeswoman for Victoria Police told news.com.au officers were called to the oval about 4.30pm.

“We received a report of fighting but by the time we arrived the fighting was over. There were no injuries and no complaints made to police.”

She said police would not investigate reports a pregnant woman had been kicked without an official complaint being lodged.

Both teams have been approached for comment.
