New sugar laws in Queensland have failed to deliver growers the choice in marketing they were promised it would. Federal agricultural minister Barnaby Joyce met late last year with Wilmar and warned he was prepared to act if the sugar milling giant was not able to find a solution of its own to the continuing deadlock.
