The NGA is located in the heart of Canberra, near Parliament House, the High Court of Australia and next door to the National Portrait Gallery. You can also get to the NGA from the path around Lake Burley Griffin if you walk through the Sculpture Garden.

Parking

Underground paid parking is available via Parkes Place off King Edward Terrace. The above ground car park off Bowen Drive is available for parking on weekends only.

Paid parking applies only on weekdays until 5pm, weekend parking is free.

There's parking for people with limited mobility in both car parks. Assisted lift access to the NGA is available from the underground car park.

Payment

The pay station is located adjacent to the lift in the underground car park.

There are other parking spots within a short walk to the NGA.

Buses

The closest ACTION bus stop is on King Edward Terrace and Parkes Place East, just a short walk from the NGA. For timetable information visit ACTION buses or call 131 710.

Taxis

Taxis can drop off at the front entrance of the NGA. Call Cabxpress on 1300 222 977 or Canberra Elite on 132 227.
