Seasoning a cast iron pan

Rinse the cast iron pan with warm water and dry well. Coat the inside and outside of the pan lightly with vegetable oil.
Put the pan upside down in a 160°C oven with a baking sheet lined with foil underneath to catch the drips.
Bake 1 hour, then turn off the oven and leave to cool.
