Quillayute station
Feb. 9 precipitation: 1.45 inches
Out on the Olympic Peninsula's Pacific Coast, it tends to be rainy. Still, the Quillayute station has already recorded roughly two inches more rainfall in the first 10 days of February than the average monthly rainfall.

In a typical February, Seattle sees about 1.2 inches of rain -- all month. But this year, the area has seen 5.46 inches of rain in the first nine days.

Bellingham

Cedar Lake
Feb. 9 precipitation: 1.45 inches (as rain)
Situated just southeast of Enumclaw, this weather station in the Snoqualmie National Forest usually sees a couple inches of snow out of the average 3.29 inches of precipitation that falls each February. This year, however, the first nine days of the month have captured more than eight inches of precipitation. That has produced about 25 inches of snowfall and more than a couple of rain.

Cushman Powerhouse 2 (below Lake Cushman along the Hood Canal)
Feb. 9 precipitation: 3.2 inches
It gets rainy down along the canal throughout most of the year. February is no exception, with an average rainfall of 3.76 inches. But in the first 10 days of the month this year, the station there has measured 7.93 inches.

Diablo Dam
Feb. 9 precipitation: 1.78 inches
Situated well up in the North Cascades along state Route 20, Diablo Dam is a major source of electricity for Seattle, generated by the rush of water from the Skagit River. Generating that power should be no problem right now, as the site has seen 4.16 inches of rainfall already this month. A normal February measures 2.58 inches.

Forks
Feb. 9 precipitation: 3.1 inches
Most people who've been even vaguely aware of the "Twilight" series have an idea that Forks is usually awash in rain and sometimes snow. This February has been exceptional, however, even for dreary-with-rain Forks. In the first nine days, the area measured 7.13 inches of precipitation, or almost three inches more than usual for the whole month.
