BREMERTON -- Three people were found dead in a home that caught fire late Friday night near Seabeck.

The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office has identified two of the bodies as male and one of them as female. The identities and ages of the victims are unknown.

Investigators are treating the case as a homicide.

"We're handling it as a homicide investigation," said Scott Wilson, Kitsap County Sheriff's deputy. "We have to. We only get one chance to do it right as far as processing the scene to gather evidence, so we have to treat it as if the worst case scenario."

Detectives are searching for a 43-year-old man missing from the fire scene. John D. Careaga, the owner of the home where the bodies were found, stands about 5-foot-9 and weighs about 200-205 pounds. His home is located at Tenino Drive West near Tahuyah Lake.

Detectives are also searching for Careaga's missing truck. The truck is a brown or dark green 2005 Ford F-150. The license plate number is C89383B.

Investigators first responded to the house after receiving a 911 call at about 11:30 p.m. Friday. The call was convoluted, and the caller wasn't clear, Wilson said.

Crews arrived to find the house on fire. After they put the fire out, the bodies were found inside.

"My heart goes out to them. And I can't imagine, you know... their family and friends, what they're going through," said Lyndee Leifeste, who lives nearby. "It's just shocking that this could happen because it really is a tight community."

A fire marshal is trying to determine the cause of the fire. The fire did not cause much damage to the exterior of the home.
