State troopers arrested three people after a jewelry courier was beaten and robbed of almost $500,000 in jewelry at a SeaTac hotel Monday night.

The suspects were nabbed about two hours later in Chehalis.

King County Sheriff's deputies responded to a robbery call about 6 p.m. at the Sleep Inn Motel in the 20400 block of International Boulevard, reports say. A jewelry courier reportedly was walking to his room when three masked men ambushed and assaulted him. They took the man's bag, which contained nearly $500,000 in jewelry, according to the Sheriff's Office. The attackers also allegedly slashed a tire on the man's vehicle and drove away from the scene in another car.

State troopers found a vehicle matching the description of the getaway car at a Chehalis Arco gas station, the Sheriff's Office reports. They arrested three suspects and took them to King County Jail for investigation of robbery.

Authorities will reportedly issue a search warrant on the suspect vehicle Tuesday in an effort to recover the jewelry.

Diamond couriers from Hong Kong were ambushed on an Interstate 5 on-ramp in SeaTac in October and robbed of about $400,000 in jewels. The King County Sheriff's Office says they're not sure whether Monday's heist was connected to the one in the fall, but will look into any possible links.
